Today I took Brenna, Ella and my Grandma to the zoo. Wes still wasn't feeling well so he stayed home with Nana. We stopped at the UAB hospital before we headed to the zoo to visit my neighbor Sarah, who had a brain hemorage right before Christmas last year and is still recovering down there. It was so nice to see her and Sarah got a big grin on her face when Ella came and said hi to her. I am sure I saw her mouth the words "hello darlin'" which is what she always said to Ella when we saw her. When we got too the Zoo it was CROWDED! Probably because it was 1/2 price day during spring break. The parking lot was full, but we decided to check and see if anyone was leaving before we took a far away spot. We got SOOO lucky. Just as we were passing the entrance and getting ready to give up, a van pulled out and we got a prime spot right by the front. The Zoo was awesome! The girls had a great time running from exhibit to exhibit and exclaiming over the animals. Brenna wasn't much for sticking around any one animal, she wanted to see them all and see them all NOW! Ella was more willing to stay and watch, but not too much longer and it was.... What can we see next?!? The girls really liked watching the sea lions, the monkeys, and the red African hogs. They also liked the fish they had there. A lot of the animals were huddled together trying to stay warm, it was a cold day today! I think everyones favorite was feeding the lorikeets, a kind of bird. For $1.50 you can get a cup of nectar to feed them. We bought one cup and each took a turn feeding the birds and having them land on us. It was neat. It reminded Ella of Pomm Fritz, she said. Ella decided that her favorite animal was the Zebra. Brenna couldn't decide between the Giraffe and the biting duck. (There was some kind of water bird who's cage had a glass window. When Brenna put her hand on the glass, the bird starting pecking at it. Brenna thought this was great fun.) After an exhausting trip around the zoo, we let the kids play at the playground until Brenna had an accident. So we cleaned her up, then ate lunch at the restaurant. By the time we were done, it was time to go so we packed up and headed back down the highway. I had a great time at the zoo, and the girls got to make some sweet memories with their Great-Grandma.

Oh how fun! I'm full of questions though. Is your grandma living with your parents permanently? Is Brenna there alone? Where are her parents? And did she do that to her hair? And is it Miss Sarah next door that's in the hospital? How awful! What is her prognosis?
