Drawings from school

Today Ella brought home her first set of papers from 1st grade. They included a book titled "All about me" Here are three of my favorite drawings from her book. This is my family, My family has 4 people in it. Photobucket I enjoy... Karate This is a picture of Mr. Daniel holding the "big black pad" up and Ella is doing a side kick. I love her facial expression in this one. Photobucket When I grow up I want to be a Photographer I am so glad that Ella wants to be like me when she grows up. I think it is funny that Ella and her subjects are standing on Turtles, she said they thought they were rocks. And she is taking a picture of a woman with her son and baby. Photobucket I really love looking at Ella's art... she has a talent in bringing out expression and movement with her stick figures!

Annual Alexanders MA picnic.

Saturday we went to the Alexander's Martial Arts Annual picnic. The kids had great fun! They played with stomp rockets, frisbee, balls, water guns and other outdoor toys. Jon and I played with the kids and I talked to some of my Karate friends. The food was good, and we had a nice time! ER visit

Last night I ended up taking Wes to the ER because he was having an asthma attack and the Nebulizer Albuterol wasn't working. Jon stayed home and went to bed with Ella so he could go to work tomorrow and Wes and I headed out. We waited for a short while, then we got assessed by a nurse, she didn't like what she saw so she got us a room right away we had a nurse come in and put stickers on his chest and monitors on his finger then the respiratory specialist came in and assessed his condition. Just as she was finishing up, the DR came in and did an assessment too. They both put him at an "11" (no idea what that means) and said that a 9 or 10 will put you in the ER, so it was good that I brought him. The Dr was concerned and said we needed to get him on an hour long breathing treatment, and get an IV started, also a chest x-ray. He said he would see what he could do, but I was looking at AT LEAST 3-4 hours in the ER and most likely he would need to be admitted to the hospital. So The Respiratory nurse got him started on a cocktail of nebulizer drugs and then a nurse came in a put an IV in his little arm and started him on 3 IV drugs. After his breathing treatment was done the Dr came and looked at him again and said he was doing better but not enough better. They came back in an hour and saw a bit of improvement and again in 1.5 hours they came back and said he was doing much much better than they expecting. The DR said that most times little kids his age and condition get admitted but the drugs they gave Wes turned him around very well and he cleared us to go home. So now we have an Asthma diagnosis and a bunch of medicine for the next couple of days. He has to stay in the house for the rest of the day and keep calm. Hopefully, he will be able to resume normal activity tomorrow. I am SO. TIRED. We got home just after 4 am and Wes woke me back up at 9:30, how will I make it through the day?? Gymnastics!

Today after we dropped Ella off at school and went to the gym Mom and I took Wesley to his very first gymnastics class at Madison Gymnastics. He LOVED the class. He had a huge grin on his face the whole time and was just laughing and having a great time. He followed the directions perfectly and took turns and was great about watching Mr. Ken demonstrate the skills. He was really good at all of it too, I was very very impressed at how easily he did everything. I am proud of my Baby boy, he is growing up too fast though! First day of First grade!

Today was Ella's first day of First grade! She has Ms. Tyree as her teacher, I don't know her yet, but she seems really really nice. Ella has decided for now that she wants to be called Elinor at school so we will see how that will go and how long that will last! She looked too darn cute in her new outfit and shoes. She was thrilled with her new kitty backback and angry bird lunch box. Wesley and I walked her to her new clasroom and said hi to the teacher. I got a whole packet of stuff to fill out and then we headed out. I am sad to have her gone, but excited too. She is growing up! Goodbye dead animal house and chattanooga

Today we left our cabin behind and headed over the Chattanooga. We had to be out by 10am and we made it out in plenty of time. After driving down to Chattanooga we went to Ruby falls and toured the cave and saw the amazing underground waterfall. The hike down was nice, and they had some nice formations but the falls were so cool! After we made it back to the sun we drove over to the incline railway and took a ride down and then up the mountain. Wesley loved the railway! After the ride we found a resteraunt, had dinner and went to our hotel. It has been such an amazing vacation, I am sad that it will be over tomorrow.
