Wednesday

Yesterday was another nice day in Utah for us. We went to a play center called "Boondocks" they had a GIANT soft play area, an arcade, bowling, "roller ball" laser tag and more. The kids and I played "roller ball" which I have previously played under the name "Duck pin bowling" and then the kids played in the soft play area for a while. At the end, Laura got some game tokens for us to play at the arcade. We had a total blast. Jon and I were going to do a game of laser tag, but since we were the only ones in the building, and Jon is like a million times better than me, we decided to pass this time. After the kids were too tired to play anymore we headed home for naptime and lunch. IT was a nice relaxing afternoon. In the evening, Laura took us to a local old time soda and ice cream shop. I had a chocolate malt. it was DIVINE! Jon had an Italian soda and the kids had ice cream cones. It was really neat. We also got some of the old fashioned candy they sold there. After our dinner of ice cream we went home to put the kids to bed. Then Laura was kind enough to watch them for us and Jon and I went out to a movie. We went and saw "the green hornet" which I expected to be really dumb but was actually really cute. There were lots of funny one liners and the story was ok. I think there were probably lots of references to the original TV show that I would have gotten if I had ever seen the original tv show. We got home late, around 11 so it was straight to bed for us. Today I am doing family pictures for my sister in law and then we are all going to a resort to go tubing! I am so excited!

Monday and tuesday

Monday was a very nice day. We hung out at Laura's house, then we took the kids to the mall. Laura had told us that the mall had a small train that the kids could ride on. We managed to pick the correct entrance and the train was right there. It didn't open for an hour, so we let the kids play at the playground there for a while, then we walked around the mall. Once the train was open and ready we took the kids on a ride around the mall. Wes was THRILLED by the train and really enjoyed his ride. Ella liked it too. After the train we left the mall and headed to Grandma and Grandpa Carlson's house. We stopped on the way and had lunch at a nice mongolian grill. It was yummy! The kids slept on the way to Richmond and when we got their they had a great time meeting their great grandparents. We had a nice visit with them and in the evening we headed home. Laura got pizza for our little pizza monster for dinner and then we relaxed and watched a movie together. It was a nice day.

Tuesday stared out with a trip to "the treehouse" museum. It was an AMAZING kids hands on museum. I wish we had it in HSV, cuz it was awesome. The kids, (and I) had a great time playing with all the exhibits. I liked the stop motion movie exhibit the best, and Jon liked the building one the best. The kids liked everything. After the museum (we spent over 2 hours there which is a long time for my kids) we walked over to the distribution center and Laura got us some new garments for Christmas (THANKS LAURA!!) then home for lunch/naptime. I had to FORCE Wes to sleep, but he finally did and was much better for it. Jon spent the afternoon building an Igloo. It turned out awesome. He did a great job. It took him almost 5 hours to build it but it is a strong, usable igloo. He was very proud of himself. After he warmed up we headed out to a wonderful dinner at an Indian restaurant. The food was fabulous. The kids went right to bed when we got home and actually slept in till their usual time today! I am not sure what we have planned for today, but it should be fun!

In the great (not so) white north

We are having a great time here in Utah. It is about the same temp here as it is back home in AL and there is no snow on the ground here in Ogden at least. This must be mother natures apology to me for dumping 9 inches of snow on me in AL. Yesterday we went over to see Jon's sister in Morgan. There was snow there on the ground but not much. Jon's sister was sweet enough to arrange to have her baby blessed yesterday so that Jon could be a part of it. After Church we went back to Bethany's house and had a fabulous lunch. We hung out there the rest of the day. I found myself a shadow in 9 year old Olivia. She is a sweetie, but exhausting! The kids were tuckered out by the end of the day and they fell asleep in the car on the way home and even stayed that way as we transfered them to their beds. Today we are planning on visiting Jon's grandparents in Richmond.
