Sunday morning

I love 11 o'clock church. I also hate 11 o'clock church. I love the slow, lazy pace of the morning. Plenty of time to get dressed, eat breakfast and play. I love not worrying about getting there on time, and having a few min to finish up my lesson. I HATE that church is right in the middle of morning nap and lunch. Makes for cranky kids.

This morning, the kids are all dressed up in their new Sunday clothes and lookin' sharp!

My Handyman

I love it when Jon decides to do projects. He can be so handy when he wants to be. Today he was a busy boy. He cleaned out his car, replaced the broken doorknob on our bedroom door and tackled a bigger project that we have been wanting to do for a while. We have these nice French doors to our backyard, but they have an ugly "lattice" or fake panes in them. We would prefer just the plain glass. We have been debating cutting off the plastic lattice part for a while now and today Jon decided was the day. He got busy with our little rotary tool and started cutting away. There is still some fine detailing to do, but I think it looks pretty good so far!

Once he got all the plastic off he cleaned the windows. There was a lot of paint on the glass from previous paint jobs. So he ended up scrapping that off too. He was such a hard worker today! Thanks Honey!

Clothes and sibling love

I mentioned the consignment sale I went to wednesday, I scored big in my opinion. I got a TON of stuff. I wanted to document my great deal, mostly for myself, but since this is my only journal, I guess you guys get to read it as well.
Here are the clothes I got Ella
8 shirts:

And for Wesley,

All this, plus a big bag of mega blocks for only $67 (including tax!)

Also today was a nice slower day for us. We went to Dublin Pool with my Grandma and swum some laps, then after we were dressed and ready to go we dropped her off at my parents house and came home for lunch. Wes took a (very short) nap while Ella and I ate and played Yatzee jr. Then the kids played nicely together for the rest of the afternoon until naptime. They were so cute! They started out playing with Wesley's "little people" barn. I am glad Ella is finally getting the hang of the sharing thing. Then they were playing the CUTEST ball game.

Wesley would bring Ella the ball and hand it to her:

She would throw it over his head and he would run, flapping his arms and squeeling to grab it.
Photobucket
Then he would catch it

and waddle over to Ella to get her to throw it again.

They both thought this was great fun! I loved hearing the laughter and joy they had playing together. It was so so so cute to watch. I love it when my babies play together, especially when they do it when i don't make them!

Bridgestreet Buddies

A little over a year ago, a local outdoors mall (Bridgestreet towne center) Started up a free kids club called "Bridgestreet Buddies" They have about one free activity every couple of months down a bridgestreet during the spring, summer and fall. We have toured the Chocolate Crocodile (with free chocolate!) Gone bowling for free at "The station" and saw a free movie. There have been others we have missed, like making pizza at Tommy's pizza or the Space and Rocket center day. But we have been really happy with the events so far. Today was another Buddies event, Ice cream Pizza with Maggie Moos! We arrive a little early and took our places.

Ella was very anxious to start, but she did ok waiting. I hadn't gotten a ticket for Wes, because Ella got the last one, but so many people didn't show up, he got to do it too.
While the staff was passing out the slices of "pizza" to the kids Maggie Moo came out for pictures!

Finally it was time to start decorating. We each got a slice of vanilla ice cream "pizza dough" and some toppings. We got red icing for the sauce, cherry white chocolate discs for pepperoni, white chocolate shavings for cheese, marshmallows for mushrooms and some Oreo cookie crumbs "just because they taste good"
Ella had so much fun putting her pizza together. Wesley just wanted to eat the candy, so I "helped" him make his.

After we were done decorating, we got to eat our masterpieces! Wesley really liked his, so did Ella. I got to eat the leftovers and they were delish!

After that we walked back to the car after a short stop at CC for a chocolate pretzel. Then we did something much less interesting, went grocery shopping. Now Wes is sleeping and Ella is watching a movie. Perfect blogging time for Mommy before getting to clean up time. Blech, I hate cleaning up!

Today

Today was nice. I am still feeling ill, but I am definitely better than I was. I decided that we needed to get out. Since it was too cold to play outside, we thought we would look around for some inside fun. Wes slept in until 10 am today! A record! So after he was up and dressed, we cleaned up some of the mess left from my sick days.
Photobucket
Then we went to Chick-fil-a to meet Amy and her crew for lunch. We were surprised to see 5 or 6 ladies from church there as well. Evidently they were having a church play group day or something. After lunch, play and an ice cream cone we left Amy and headed down to the $1 movie theater to see a movie.
Photobucket

We went to see "the princess and the frog" Ella had already seen the movie last year when it came out with my parents, but I haven't seen it. I have decided that I like the $1 theater. We spent $5 there for 2 tickets, 2 popcorns and a soda for Ella. I have never seen a movie theater with a dollar menu before! The movie was cute and Wes did great. The movie was right during naptime so after watching for about 5 min, he took his bottle and fell asleep. He woke up near the end, with about 15-20 min left. He watched some and wandered around the empty theater. It was so much fun! I am so glad that we got to go.

After Jon came home from work, I went off to a consignment sale to get the kids clothes for the summer. I spent $65 and got Ella 8 outfits, 2 dresses, 1 nightgown, 1 swim suit and a leotard. Wesley got 8 outfits and 2 sets of jammies and a church outfit. I also got a big bag of Duplo's included in that price. I think I did pretty well! I really like shopping at consignments sales.

Super Ella!

Ella likes to dress up. Yesterday she was a pirate, today she was "Super Ella!" She wore her purple panties, a purple shirt, gobblies (goggles) and her pink cape with a big sparkly "E" on it. I thought she looked great! She was saving the day down stairs when she came up and told me that her super flying super power wasn't working and could she practice flying on my bed. I figured that this oughtta be good, so I said sure. I pulled out my camera, and for once, Ella was a willing subject. She is an awesome Super Hero and can save the day for me anytime!

Trains

I love watching my kids play together. I hope that they can continue to do so as they get older with out too much fighting. I don't have any brothers, so I am not sure what to expect from this type of sibling interaction. I know that someday, they will "hate" each other, at least until they grow out of cooties, but I can hope that that phase will be short and painless. I treasure the moments when they play nicely together.

sick :(

I was feeling a little stuffy yesterday, but not that bad. And this morning, I had a bit of a sore throat and a runny nose, but again not that bad. So I went to church to teach my class. That is when things got bad. I started feeling really rotten right at the end of church. When we got home, I put the kids down for their naps and then put myself down as well. I slept until Ella woke up shortly after 4, and went back to sleep when Jon came home from home teaching to resume parenting duties. I feel bad enough that I sent the family off to Sunday dinner without me so I could get some piece and quiet. I just woke up now at a quarter past seven. I still feel yucky, and I have a fever of 101, but my joints hurt to bad to sleep right now. So I took a picture... like any of you wanted or needed to know what I look like sick!
I hope you all feel much better than me!

Goodbye family :(

Today we had to say goodbye to our family so they could head home. We decided to have one last hurrah and eat a nice breakfast out before they drove back to Atlanta. We all went to the Waffle House. Dad and Grandma were at Grandma's church, so they didn't join us. Breakfast was good. Ella was super upset to learn that Brenna would be heading home. She burst into tears and refused to say goodbye, as if not saying the words would stop her from leaving. It must be so hard to be 3!
We had a great time with our family, we can't wait till they can come back.

Exhausted!

Today was a busy, busy day. Dad had the day off of work so he wanted to do something with the girls... turned out to be A LOT of somethings! We started out by going swimming over at Dublin pool. Then the girls and Dad played at the park while Grandma and I went home to pick up some things. (Jonas got sick last night, so he, Mom and Kristy stayed home) Then we picked up the peeps at the playground and headed down to CiCi's pizza for lunch. Wes took a short nap on the way. The girls ate a big lunch. Ella had two huge plates of their "twisted noodles" and one slice of pizza and 3 brownies. She was HUNGRY from swimming I guess. CiCi's was crowded because there was a huge bus load of elementary school kids there. What Elm school had a field trip to CiCi's pizza?

After we left, we went to Chuck-e-cheeses to play some more. When we got there there were 2 buses from the same school! (Who takes a field trip to chuck-e-cheeses?) So Chucky's was crowded too. Lucky for us, the kids were just about ready to leave, so we didn't have to put up with the crowd and noise for long. The Girls had a blast playing all the games, Wes rode a couple of rides and watched the kids play. I had fun playing Basketball, Skiball and the Duck game with Ella. Brenna was All over the place, and they ended up earning (with my and dad's help) 179 tickets. They each got a few small prizes and then it was time to head home for nap. My kids are both FAST ASLEEP. This special day really took it out of them! It was fun though.
We had a great day.
