Month 2 in the bag

I did it!!  2 whole months of my 365 blog year.  It has been a bit rough at times but i love getting to look back and see what is going on in our daily lives. I have never been stellar at journaling but blogging is easier for me, especially on my new smart phone! Today I spent most of the morning processing the pictures from last night and getting the hsv and mad pics ready to print. James had music class and then we made a quick run to aldi and sams for some quick and easy dinners for jon to cook this week. I left the house right after jon got home so i could visit mom in the hospital befor i headed to gym pics. Mom seems to be doing ok she is still in a lot of pain but is getting around anyway.  After gym pics i got home just in time to change and head over to karate class. It was a good class lots of spin kicks though. Blech. Now i get to relax for a bit befor bed.

Monday fun

Today was a busy day. I got up early and started working on processing the gymnastic orders. Wes was having trouble breathing and had a tummy ach and a rash so i kept him off the bus but 30 min later he said he was fine so james and i drove him to school. Then it was a morning of toy story for james and processing for me. We both needed a break by lunch time so we went to chick fil a and took a break. After we got home it was bed for james and more work for me. Jon got home around 1:30 and i headed out to hampton cove gymnastics at 2.  It was a good day of pictures and now i am sitting at roller derby waiting for elinor to be done. Then we are going to visit nana before finally getting to go home.

Quiet sunday

Today was rough. After only 5ish hours of sleep i got up and got ready for church. Thankfully singing time was low energy! After church we had lunch and i spent the afternoon processing orders. Nana made up breakfast for dinner which was delicious. After the kids were in bed i went back to mom and dads to watch the walking dead. Tomorrow i have my first day photographing hampton cove gymnastics and mom is having knee replacement surgery so it is going to be a busy day!

Savannah

Today was full of ups and downs. The day started off good. We got up around 8ish local time and ate breakfast then went swimming. Well elinor went swimming. It was very cold water so i slowly slowly crept in and got about as far as my chest. Grandpa dipped a toe in and decided to sit and watch. After a bit dad went up to shower and change. We followed 10-15 min later. After we were all dried off and gor dressed i did elinors hair and makeup foe the hout. Dad and i wore our fancy ellagator shirts too. Then we hit the road. It was only supposed to be a 2 5 hour drive to savannah but a big traffic jam slowed us down a bit. We arrived in old savannah around 1ish and found parking. Then we had lunch. We ended up not having time for any of the ideas i researched for the afternoon so we just went for a walk along the river. Dad paid a street arrist to make a charcoal drawing of me and elinor. She did a nice job, especially with our eyes. By the time that was dobe it was time to go back to the car and head to the venue for elinor to meet up with her team. The venue was small but we good seats and elinor got geared up we watched the home team play a mixer bout befor our game started. The game didnt go very well. The team had invited us to play a level 2/new level 3 bout. So tge coaches put together a team that was mostly our smaller inexperienced girls. Unfortunately the other team fielded  a team entirely made up of veteran skaters. They were playing full contact during a light contact game. Several of our girls were injured. And most of the littles ( not ella) were too afraid to get back on the track with the bigger stonger players. So our coaches made the call and forfeited the game at half time. They tried talking to the other teams coaches to make the game safer for our level 2s but they wernt interested in a fair game. So after talking to the parwnts and the girls the call was made. We left the game early. Elinor was pretty devastated as were many of the other girls. This wonderful th8ng that they had been looking forward to for weeks turned out so sour in the end. We had planned to head home right after the bout so we skipped the impromptu pizza pool party the coaches put togther and got ready to go.  Our team captian Medusa wanted to go home too so we said yes when she asked for a ride home. Not we are stuck in traffic somewhere between macon and Atlanta. We had dinner and the girls are sleeping in the back. Dad and i are mad at the traffic. We just want to be home already!

Savannah bound!

Today is the day! Dad elinor and i get to head 7 hours away to Savannah ga for EllaGator's first derby game against another team. I spent the morning getting the house in order and packing for the trip. Jon ended up coming home early because of his allergies. At 1:45 i picked up elinor from school from her camp mcdowell trip. She had a wonderful time. We got her cleaned up and packed and loaded up dads car. Dad had to finish his homework so we hung out until he was done around 3:30. Then we hit the road. We had a pretty good dive over the mountains. We stopped for a snack at taco bell and later for dinner at captain d's. We got to the hotel in macon around 930ish? And got ready for bed. Tomorrow we drive the last 2.5 hours to savannah for the bout!

Playdates and taxes

My plan today was to try to do my taxes. James plan today was to stop me from doing the taxes.  I had planned on working on taxes in the morning until my MoPS playdate at 11 but after being interupted a thousand times for food, new tv shows, to watch him jump down the stairs and to play with a cool top, i was relieved to get a call from my friend to go play at the park. So we ditched the taxes and went to the park. James had a great time playing and i had a great visit. We went straight to the playdate from the park. I picked up my friend janet and we went to chick fil a. Our friend lori from church was going through the drive through when she saw us and decided to come in and visit with us. So i ended up having a church playdate instead of a mops one, sorry girls! But we were all in the same place so that counts right?  After lunch i put james down for nap and confronted the dreaded taxes again. In about 2.5 hours i have them mostly done. Yay! I quit working on the taxes when jon got home with wes from chess club. We all played. One of wesleys new board games, qwirkle. It was fun. After the game we all went to a park for some time at the playground and a poke hunting walk. We had such a nice family afternoon! We are missing elinor though. Too bad i am the only one who gets to see her befor sunday! We leave at 3pm today to head to savannah for her derby game. I am excited about our little weekend trip.

Miss her already

Today elinor left for camp McDowell. She is so excited about this 3 day field trip! I got wes off to school on the bus, then we made sure everything was in order befor taking elinor to her drop off point. They wanted the field trip kids ti come to school late to lessen the chaos. I got a call from the school right befor elinor and i left saying wes forgot this lunch... Again. He got lucky that i was going to the school anyway. We took nana along with us as we were going walking right after drop off. After getting rid of her we went on our walk and then went to moms house to get some things done for the weekend trip to savannah. We made matching shirts for me and dad to wear during the roller derby bout in support of our favorite player EllaGator! We also had to make some other crafts and finished just in time for me to take james to his nap. During nap time i started the horrible task that is doing our federal taxes.... Yuck. When wes got home from school it was so weird not to have elinor follow him in! We had a quiet afternoon and evening. Wes played with his friends, jon tried to help james figure out the peddles on his new bike and mommy got to go to karate tonight so we can have a free day tomorrow! It was a really nice day. I still miss elinor though she is such a big helper around here it is hard to have her gone.

When tuesday is a monday

Tuesdays are always a little hard after a monday holiday. I have to try and squeeze all my monday stuff into tuesday but still get my tuesday stuff done too. This morning i worked for a while and once james was up we went to nanas to get the shirts for elinors game Saturday staryed. Then it was time for music class. Them we still had to get our shopping done so we went to aldi and then met jon for lunch at sams club. During nap time i put all the groceries away and made dinner for tonight and started folding laundry mountain. After jon got home it was piano time then dinner and packing elinor for camp mcdowell. She is so very excited about her 3 day field trip! I ended the night sparring at karate. So a busy, but alltogether a nice and productive day.
