This year is a birthday party year, and Wesley requested an Angry Birds theme. I set to planning and came up with some great ideas. We played Angry Bird Bingo, Pin the nose on the piggy and pig/bird toss. The main feature of the party though, was our live action angry birds game! I built a big sling shot with the help of Jon and dad, procured a huge amount of empty boxes and bought and painted 4 playground balls to look like Red bird from the game. I also made balloon piggies to pop. The kids LOVED the game. About half of them wanted to be piggies and set up the boxes and the other half loved being birds and shooting them down. They played the game for almost an hour! After they got tired out, we went inside for some Red bird cake, ice cream and treats. We finished the party off with presents. Wesley loved everything he got. It was such a fun party!! i am so happy that it all went well and we had such a good time. I think we might keep the slingshot up for a while. :)
Also, Jon and the kids were amazing on the day of the party. I had a photo-shoot this morning and they really stepped up getting the house cleaned up and ready. I am so lucky to have such a great family!
