Pictures Ella drew me

Ella drew me some lovely pictures today and asked that I post them on my blog. I was happy to oblige! The first is a picture of a cat, with Ella on the right and Wesley on the left. The second picture is a bunny.

Dentist, Birthday and library

Last week Ella had a regular teeth cleaning and Wes had his very first Dentist appointment. He did AWESOME! Ella was great at her first dentist appointment too, but she was a year older than Wes was. Wes laid down quietly and let the hygienist scrape and clean his teeth! Then when it was the dentist's turn to look, he let him get a good look at everything. Both kids have perfectly clean teeth! YEA! Ella's teeth are also perfectly straight, but Wes seems to have a bit of an overlap, which may mean braces in 10ish years. Lets hope he's wrong about that! I am so grateful that we don't' have any cavities to worry about.

This past sunday was my birthday. I had a great birthday weekend. On Friday I got to go get a pedicure and go shopping all by myself! Then on Saturday I worked most of the day on an ABC book, but in the afternoon I got to play my new video game, MAGICA with Jon and then Hannah baby-sat for us while we went to dinner at Phuket and then to see the movie "the adjustment breau" which was good. The final event, my actual birthday, was also great. Jon and the kids let me sleep in until 9am! Then I finished my lesson and made brownies to share with my class. Jon and I got some more gametime in too before church. Church was good, then after church we went to Mom and Dads for my special birthday dinner. I got EXACTLY what I wanted. Weissworst, spatzle, gurke salat, bretzel rolls and apfel streudle for dessert! It was AWESOME! I had such a nice birthday. I got some birthday money from my grandparents and from my Mother in law. I am going to use some of it to go do another painting class, I had so much fun the first time!

Finally, to finish off this post, today we went to the library after working out this morning at the Y. We made it just in time for story time and the kids enjoyed the books and the songs. After they got to color a picture. Then the kids picked out a TON of books. I asked the children's librarian for some book suggestions for some chapter books to read Ella. I am excited to read them with her, I hope she likes them better than the books I picked out for Ella, which she didn't like.

Easter Dress

This year I purchased some very nice fabric on sale for Ella's Easter Dress. It was originally over $20 but I only paid around $4. It is beautiful embroidered netting with sequence on it. Mom and I chose a beautiful "princess" dress type pattern and we overlaid the netting on a pink fabric that mom had on hand. The result is Gorgeous! Mom finished the dress today and I just had to go out and get pictures of it. I had seen this lovely tree on the corner of Slaughter and Old Madison Pike earlier this week and just knew it would be the perfect backdrop for our pictures. Ella wanted to be a princess in the pictures so I let her have makeup on and her tiara. The pictures turned out so cute! I love them!

Allllllll Done!

Ella has decided that she is no longer interested in taking Gymnastics. It makes me sad, because I loved Gymnastics so, but if she doesn't like it, then I won't force her. This Tuesday was her very last day so we asked her teacher, Ms. Tammy if we could have a picture with her. Ms. Tammy is a WONDERFUL teacher and has been so kind and patient with Ella. I am going to miss going and watching, but maybe in the near future Wes can start up with the Mommy and Me classes.

Jump to it!

We met a friend at Jump to it! yesterday, the kids had a blast!

Projects

Last weekend we spent out Saturday cleaning up the front and back yards, getting them ready for summer. They look great now, and are very inviting. We decided that we wanted to do another project this weekend so we decided to start working on the living room. Today we stripped the paint off the mantle and stained it and painted the wall with the fireplace on it. It is going to be our accent wall, the rest of the room will be painted in a lighter brown. I love the way it turned out!

ETA:
After everything dried and we had a chance to recuperate we decided to go ahead and finish the wall. Jon has been wanting a mirror over the mantle for a while, and I have been wanting to replace the mirror in the bathroom since I re-did it over a year ago, I had gotten a mirror, but it needed paint and such and I hadn't gotten around to it. So today, Jon took the bathroom mirror and rehung it over the fireplace and I painted the wall where it used to be and the new mirror. I think the finished mantle looks great, very classy and will bring more light into the room. Now all I have to do is get some molding to make a frame for the mirror and it will be finished. What a long day of work!
But so worth it. We also discovered while survaying our new wall that we accidently managed to match our curtains exactly, so at least we won't need to replace those!

fun fun fun

We have been busy little bees, enjoying this fabulous weather. We went to a new bouncy house place, jump it up, and the kids loved it. We also went to the park with our friends. I love spring!
