Partay!

Today was the 4th annual End of year party for my Primary class. Each December we have taught primary we have held a little get together for the kids and enjoyed one last hurrah with them before they move on to a new teacher. This was my first year doing it without Jon, so that made things a little harder for me. We had a great time though. We ate pizza and snacks, watched part of Shrek 4, played missionary tag and freeze tag and other outside games, watched part of Monsters vs. Aliens, and played some board games with a couple of the kids. It was fun and I hope that they all had a blast. I will be sad to see them go, I always miss my old kids while I am getting to know my new ones. Wes thankfully slept through most of the party (as planned) and was only up for the last 40 min or so. After the kids left and the house quieted down Wes enjoyed playing with his new toys. I had a nice, but tiring, day.

Fun last day

Today was the last day for us to spend with Chris and Kristy before they head back to Wisconson. Dad had a great afternoon planned. We went to the roller skating rink, then to a taco van. The skating was fun. Everyone but mom got on skates, even the boys! Wesley didn't like skating on his own much but he LOVED being held by Grandpa while he skated until the workers said he couldn't do that. Ella brought her own "slower" skates from home and she loved rolling around with the help of the grown ups. Brenna wore the faster rental skates and did pretty good for her first time. I had a blast skating with the kids and a little bit by myself. It was very fun. After the kids were worn out we stopped by Dad's "taco bus" a little taco joint he likes to go to. The kids thought it was cool to eat in a bus, although they were disappointed to find out that it wouldn't actually drive around as we ate. After lunch we headed back to Mom's and the grownups played one last game of Carcassonne together before dinner. After the kids and men were fed and the kids put in bed, Mom, Kristy and I went out for a girls night with my friend Amy. We went out to have dinner together at a fondue restaurant. It was very delicious and the company was great. What an awesome day!

Fun day with the family

Today was a great day. Jon was sick so he stayed home from work. He actually stayed home all day to rest up. I went over to Mom and Dad's with the kids and while the kids played Mom, Kristy and I played a board game. Once dad was up and about he decided that we should take the kids out to the mall and let them run around. Since Jon was home anyway, and it was naptime, I took Wes home and put him to bed before heading over to the mall with the gang. We all got lunch and then we let the kids play in the playground while we played Carcassonne together. It was a blast!! We finished just in time to go home and pick up wes, and head over to the Bowling alley to meet up with Mom and Dad's friends. Mom and Dad bowled with their buddies and Chris, Kristy and I bowled with the kids. We all had a blast, but Wes especially LOVED bowling tonight. He was able to do it all by himself and did a great job waiting for his turn and letting the other kids know when it was their turn. He was so super cute! I had a great day with my family. Tomorrow is our last day with Chris and Kristy, we are going to miss them. When we got home from Bowling, I found that a dear client had dropped off a gift for me. During one of their photoshoots Lou had snapped a picture of me taking pictures of their daughter. The gave me the picture framed in a beautiful frame. What a touching gift! I am going to hang it up in my office. I don't have any pictures of me working, it is nice to see that I don't look like a TOTAL dork while working.

quiet day

Today was a quiet day. Kristy and her kids went up to Chattanooga for the day to visit some of their friends so we had the day to ourselves. I spent the morning doing paperwork that I had been avoiding all week and the kids played with their Christmas presents. later in the morning we went out shopping with Mom to get some things, and then back home for naptime and more paperwork. After Jon got home we spent the evening at Mom and Dads. A nice quiet day.
I also discovered that my new camera is not very good in low light. bummer.

Canceled

Today we got more snow. *sad*. Church was canceled because of hazardous road conditions, so we spent the whole day with my family. The girls had a great time playing together. We watched several movies, played some board games, and cooked and ate way too much good food. I had such a nice boxing day. Tomorrow it is back to semi-normal as Jon has to go back to work. We still have a few more days with family though!

Whoever is dreaming of a white Christmas

Needs to WAKE UP!! This is Ala-freakin-bama not the Artic circle! The kids were thrilled to wake up to a white Christmas, and I guess that if it had to snow on any one day, Christmas is a good enough choice. We did have a nice time making snow men and having a snowball fight after presents this morning. It can melt now, we are done please/thankyou. I had a great Christmas this year with my family. We did presents, had lunch at the Chinese buffet and spent the afternoon watching a Scifi mini series. I got a neat GPS system from Jon, and a really cool water proof video/still camera from Mom and Dad. I got some great little things as well. The kids got along pretty good and had fun playing with their new toys. What a Merry Christmas! The weather is supposed to be bad tomorrow so Church was canceled, I guess we get to spend another day together at home.

Choo-choo!

This morning Chris and I took the Boys to the train depot. Most of the train cars were locked up, but the boys had a grand time playing on the engine, the fire engine and the old cars. Once we were good and cold we went into the play area and the boys fought over the trains in there. I think they had a good time anyway, even if they were brats half of the time. After the Depot, we went out to lunch at the Greek restaurant. It was yummy, but super crowded. We had to sit outside and we got really cold. After lunch it was nap time, then once Jon got home it was time for me to go out to my photo shoot. I had a great time chatting with my clients and photographing their newborn. Tonight Ella will get home late and finish the night at Nana's house. I hope she had a great time at Dollywood!

Blah and fun

I woke up this morning feeling very queezy. It was "Dollywood day" for Dad, Kristy and the girls so even though I felt like crap I got her bags packed and her ready to go. Dad and crew picked her up around 8:30 and off they went to have fun. I just finished talking to her on the phone and it sounded like they had an awesome day. Here at home, I couldn't take Wes's whining about his sissy so I went to Kroger's got some Popsicles to settle my stomach and a chick flick and went to Moms so that Wes could play with Jonas. The boys played very well together all morning and the movie was cute. Mom is also feeling ill, although she is more ill than I am. After the movie it was nap time so I grabbed Wes and we went home for a rest. I actually got to sleep for an hour and a half. I felt a ton better after my nap so after Jon got home we packed up the baby and went and picked up Chris and Jonas. We went to the mall, walked around and then had dinner and let the boys play. They had a grand time, so much so that neither of them wanted to leave. Now it is home, and bed. I think I will turn in early in the hopes that I will feel better tomorrow. I hope I am as I am supposed to be photographing a newborn tomorrow evening!
