Basket Ball with Nana (and mommy)

Today Ella and I got Nana to play basket ball with us.  Despite her protests of inadequacy, she beat us both in a game on H-O-R-S-E.  We all had fun, I hope to get much more use out of the net this summer.


 

Waiting out the storms

Last night a big storm system moved through the area.  Many Tornado's touched down causing major damage.  We were once again spared, no damage for us.  But the kids were quite worried as we watched the news and waited for the storm to end.

Paper boat

Dad took us all out to the local Chinese buffet for dinner tonight.  It was fantastic as always, but we had an especially nice waitress this time.  She was enamored with James, and was super sweet to Wesley.  She make Wes, (and Ella) origami boats to take home with them.  It was very sweet.

An Afternoon walk

Today was a beautiful day!  The weather was awesome, low 80's with a cool breeze so we decided to go for a family walk.  James loves to be outside so he was thrilled to go out and see the world.  The other kids are crazy goofs, as always so it was an interesting walk.  I love this family of mine, they sure are something special!

Shark!

today Mom and I had a potluck with the Aquanuts, our Water Aerobics group.  Dad suggested we make a watermelon shark and fill it with fruit salad, so we did!  I think my shark came out pretty good for my first attempt at carving watermelons.

Basket Ball with Daddy

When we bought our house, there was a basket ball net by the driveway, it didn't get used much because the cars were always in the way, so a week or so ago, Jon moved it to the Cul-de-sak so it could be played with.  It was fun to watch Ella and Jon play H-O-R-S-E.  She is much better than I was at her age!

Botanical Gardens

For Grandma May's last day we decided to visit the Botanical gardens.  We hadn't been in a few years, so it was nice to go back.  Jon and I decided to go ahead and get the membership, as we only have to go twice to get our monies worth.  Even though it was raining, we had a great time walking around looking at the flowers, the sand sculptures, the alice in wonderland things and the treehouses.  Wesley was very well behaved, and James enjoyed his ride in the Kangaroo pouch, first looking around and later sleeping as we went along.  Wes was delighted with the Tadpoles we found in the pond, espically when I caught one and he got to touch it!  It only rained a bit, so we didn't get too wet and we had a wonderful time.  Later that afternoon, Laura came with me and Ella to her Karate lesson and we had a wonderful dinner out on the back patio.  What a fantastic last day with Grandma!
