Halloween

Halloween!  My favorite holiday!  After the kids got home from school and packed their bags for staying with Nana and Grandpa while I am in the hospital, we went over to Jack's to get a quick dinner before Trick-or-treating.  The kids had earned free hamburgers and they have been dying to redeem them so I figured now was as good a time as any.  After we ate, we went home and got suited up in our costumes before headed over to our friends house for Trick-or-treating!  We have been going with them for the last 10ish years, their neighborhood is great for walking around and lots of houses participate.  I walked for the first bit, but then I got all worn out and ended up driving along behind them for the rest of the night.  Once the candy bags were full, we took the kids home to Nana's house and got them all in bed.  Then home and packing our bags for the hospital morrow!  I am nervous, but excited to finally meet little Evie.

Almost there! Maternity pictures

Today we have just 48 hours until baby time!  I am both excited and anxious.  I realized this morning that I havn't had any maternity pictures done with Evelyn, so mom was so kind as to come out with me and take a few this afternoon.  I am quite pleased with how they turned out.   Then, after roller derby, mom and I went out to the melting pot for a special dinner.  We did a special where we got cheese, entre and chocolate for $30/person.  It was delicious.  A nice celebration right before baby time.

Good bye Primary!

Today I was released as the Primary music leader.  With Evelyn coming in 3 days, it was the right move, but I am going to be so sad to be done  I planned a fun special game for my last singing time. We combined their favorite review games, with their favorite primary songs.  It was great.  At the end, I asked them to sing my new favorite primary song, "Choose him again" .  I gave them each a whole sheet of musical measles to use on me afterwards.  In Jr. I started to cry in the middle and couldn't stop, but I managed to hold it together for Senior.  I was super covered with measles and I hope that the kids all remember how much love I have for them.  Onward, to the next adventure!

Taste of the holiday's market and trunk or treat

Today was our craft fair. We got there around 8am to finish setting up.  The fair went pretty well.  We made a decent amount of money, and had fun.  After the fair was over, we packed up and went home to get ready for the ward trunk or treat.  I used my hour between to make the decorations for our trunk.  I am dressing as a pokeball for Halloween so I did our trunk as a pokestop, with a real spinner to spin!  I handed out the left over pokeballs from Wesley's birthday party instead of candy.  It was a hit!

Dizzy!

My head is spinning... like a whirl-pool it never ends.....

Today mom woke up with a really bad case of Vertigo.  i spent most of the day helping her out and getting last min things ready for the craft fair tomorrow.  I took mom to the Dr. and in the afternoon we set up our craft booth with Jon and Dad's help.  It looks awesome, and I hope we do great tomorrow!

Trunk or Treat!

Tonight was the kids fall festival thing at the school, but it sounded crowded and jon didn't want to go, so we party crashed the 3rd wards trunk or treat instead.  It was a good choice, the dinner was good (and free!) and the kids got lots of candy, and I got to sit for most of it.  It was also nice to see so many old friends

A new helmet for Jon

Jon has decided to reuse his "Dragon Born" costume from a few years ago, it is one of the best costumes I have ever made him.  Unfortunately, the helmet has deteriorated and is no longer usable.  So today I spent the day making him a new one.  This one turned out even better than the last one!  i have learned a lot about fabricating in the last few years.  I am so proud of the way it turned out.

Dr visit and success at school

James  hasn't been pooping, and has been saying his butt hurt for a while now. (at least 5 days no poop) so I decided to take him to the Dr.   The last time this happened, they told me to give him miralax and sent me home so I was hesitant to bring him in again.  Turns out, he has a strep infection in his bum!  i didn't even know that was a thing. We got oral antibiotics and a topical cream and hopefully in a few days he will be feeling better.

Wes came home from school with great news! he has been struggeling with behavior at school (nothing major, mostly personality conflict with his teacher) but I told him that if he stayed on green or better for 5 days in a row I would take him to the $1 store to get a prize.  Today he got his prize!  He picked out two cool weapons from the costume section.

Dutch oven cook off

We were invited to a FHE dutch oven cook off tonight.  Each family got a "wierd" ingredient (we got maple flavoring) and a few other ingredients (we had chocolate cake and pumpkin) and then we all had to make a dessert.  It was fun, Elinor and Wes got to help make our dessert.  After they were all cooked, we all got to try out the different desserts.  All of them were a bit weird, but it was such a fun night!

A quick trip to the ER.

Today was the Primary Program.  It was AMAZING.  This is my last program for a while, as I am being released, but I am so proud of those kiddos.  Every song was amazing, they knew every word.  After dinner tonight, we were watching TV at mom and Dads when my hands suddenly went numb/tingly and I felt funny so I took my blood pressure and it was a little high 135/80ish so I waited a half hour and took it again and it was 158/93! I took it every 10ish min for a bit and it stayed in that range so we went to the OB ER to get checked out. By the time we got there it was lower, (140/88). They took blood and urine for testing. After a couple of hours the tests came back fine, and my BP was back in normal range (118/68) so they sent me home. I am going to be so tired in the morning!

Such a busy day!

Today I had lots of things to do.  I started out at the primary program practice from 8:30-11:30, then the chick-cil-a fall festival from 12-1:30ish.  Then we got to go home for a bit before I went to a baby shower at 4, and a wedding at 5:30.  I was pooped by the time we got home around 8.  It was fun though.  The kids did awesome in their practice, the fall festival was so fun, the kids got to ride a horse, bounce in the bounce house, paint pumpkins and have ice cream.  Elinor also "won" a costume contest that didn't exist!  The flier implied there would be one, but when she asked they said they wern't doing one this year.  But the marketing director was so impressed with her costume that she gave her a prize anyway!  She got a bunch of cards for free food.  Yay!  Free food!

Turtles!

Jon was home today because his office is infested with bedbugs and they closed to have it treated.  He did homework most of the day, but he came with me and James to go see the turtles and other reptiles at Animal Trax in Madison.  James loves to go see the tortoise, and all the lizards and such.  This evening we had a family night.  We rented "Spiderman Homecomming" and Elinor made us brownies.  WE all pilled up in my bed/bedroom and watched together.  It was nice.

Huntsville Gymnastics team

Today were the annual pictures for the Huntsville gymnastics team.  I think this is my 9th? year doing them.  Being so very pregnant, I dragged Jon along to help me set up the 30' drop and lights.  It was a long, exhausting night, but I always enjoy working with the girls and seeing their awesome skills.  After we finished, we went over to the mall and grabbed some dinner.  They have a Doner kebab place there!  It was delicious.  I also had some cajun chicken I had been craving.

Wesley gets a tooth pulled

Yesterday after my Dr. appointment I stopped by next door to see about getting Wesley an appointment to have a baby tooth pulled.  His dentist recommended we get that done at his last appointment to make room for some overcrowded adult teeth coming in.  I was surprised when they asked if we could come in the next day, as they had had a cancellation.  I figured it was less time for Wesley to worry, so I took the appointment.  Wesley was so brave, he did a great job and it was not nearly as bad as he thought it would be.  After it was all done, I took him to have lunch with daddy since he missed lunch at school.

Kakamora

Today Mom and I finished James' Kakamora costume.... and he HATES it.  After begging me for weeks to be a Kakamora like Elinor, the min he put the costume on he started crying and saying " I CAN NOT be a Kakamora!"  I hope we can bring him around before Halloween, because his costume looks amazing.  I also managed to get the pink under suit for the costumes today and got Elinor to take a few pictures of her finished costume.  I LOVE it so much.

Hats!

We got a package from my old college roommate/friend Kate!  She sent the 3 kids hats, and Evelyn a baby blanket.  It was so cool to get a surprise package!

Nana is home!

Today was the primary program practice.  It went really well.  We have one more practice, this coming saturday, then the program is on Sunday.  I am so excited for the kids!  They are so ready for this.  After church, Nana got home from visiting Mimi and Pop in Kentucky.

Playing in the dirt

Today the kids were driving me crazy, so I told them to go play in the dirt.  They looked at me like I had two heads, so I grabbed a big spoon, and some cars and army men and took them outside to the dirt pile.  i showed them how to build roads and caves in the dirt.  They played out there for a long time.
