Nominated for "Best mom"...

Tonight I decided to have a little fun with dinner. Originally I thought we could have Waffles for dinner, and Sundae's for dessert, then I thought, why not have Waffle sundaes' for dinner? The kids LOVED the idea, and they were very tasty, hey, waffles are healthy right? and whipped cream and ice cream both have milk in them, and cherry pie filling has cherry's which are fruit, so it was definitely a well rounded dinner! Bowling

Thursday I sub-bowled for mom again. This time Mom was feeling up to coming, so she brought Wes and let him bowl too. He had a great time. He ended up bowling 4 games! he usually gets bored after about 1.5 so i was impressed. I was especially impressed when he decided half way through the second game that he wanted to "Bowl like the grown ups" and got rid of the dragon slide. He did an awesome job throwing the ball all on his own. He put his fingers in the right holes, ran forward and released the ball just at the line. It was amazing to watch. He need to work on his aim, but he has really good form! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Valentines day

We decided we didn't want to go out for V-day, so I made us a fancy night in! Got a pizza from little Cesar's and a red-box movie for the kids to keep them out of the way, and made our very own Melting pot in the dining room! A camp stove set up on the table kept a pot of cheese fondue and a pot of chicken broth with onions, garlic, rosemary and peppercorns hot for dipping/cooking. Carrots, apples and bread for the cheese and chicken, shrimp, and filet mignon to cook in the broth. Jon has never had main course fondue before, and he loved it! I was fun to dip, talk and eat together and the kids even left us alone! It was a great Valentines day. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Climb a tree

Today Ella ran inside and told me that Wesley wanted me to come outside and take a video of him climbing a tree. Ella taught him how and he was so excited to show off for me. I took the video and some pictures for good measure. I was impressed with how balanced and sure he was! photo P2140203web_zps634578ce.jpg photo P2140204web_zps122719eb.jpg photo P2140205web_zpsc4c914d1.jpg photo P2140206web_zps636ebbd3.jpg photo P2140208web_zpsb492be08.jpg photo P2140209web_zps638dc5ab.jpg photo P2140210web_zps509cdbdb.jpg

Alice in Wonderland!

The other day we had the wonderful opportunity to see a local elementary schools version of Alice in Wonderland. Our good friend Marissa played the Queen of hearts, and my friend's son played the King. We also know 2 of the 3 alices and some of the chorous too. It was wonderful to see our friends preform and they did such a good job! photo P2090189web_zpsfbb11635.jpg

Ear infections and Bicycles

Today Ella woke up with an Ear infection. It wasn't terribly unexpected as Wesley went to the Dr. with TWO ear infections on Monday and they had the same illness last week that caused them. Ella was in quite a bit of pain, but was excited to miss half a day of school. After the Dr. I took her out to lunch at Burger King before returning her to school. photo P2060172web_zpseb4e696c.jpg photo P2060173web_zps87d1d3d4.jpg photo P2060174web_zps62ca4aa2.jpg Wesley got a bike from Nana and Grandpa for his birthday, Today is such a lovely day, that we decided to give it a try. He did a great job peddling once he got over his fear. I foresee lots of riding with his sister in his future. photo P2060176web_zps1f5595da.jpg photo P2060177web_zps51fa6d76.jpg photo P2060181web_zps246d3dfc.jpg photo P2060182web_zps49efc97e.jpg

Wesley's Curious George birthday party!

Wesley will be 4 years old tomorrow! I can't believe how fast time is going! Today we had his birthday party. He LOVES Curious George so he requested a CG themed party. I had a ton of fun coming up with the stuff for this party! Since I decided to do messy things at the party, I made each kid a personalized Curious George apron to wear at the party and to take home after. They came out so cute!! Also, it is impossible to find C.G. decorations or tableware locally, so I had to track some down online, and make my own. We started out by watching the episode of C.G. where he makes muffins with the professor. Then we made our own muffins. Banana muffins in honor of our little Monkey friend. I divided all the ingredients into 6ths and put them in little paper cups. Then we mixed them in one by one to make the batter. Each kid make 2 muffins. Then I put them in the cupcake pan and into the oven while we watched another short episode of C.G. This time it was about George letting bunnies out of their hutch and then having to find them. After the show was done, the kids had to find the sparkly bunnies that I had hidden in the room. When they found their rabbits, we got to paint little "stained glass" rabbits. This activity didn't go quite as well as I hoped, I think the craft was a bit over their dexterity level. But the kids had fun doing it, and that is what matters. The Muffins came out of the oven while they were painting and got set out to cool. Once they were done painting, we played "pin the hat of George" while Mom iced the muffins with cream cheese frosting. I had purchased 5 different kind of sprinkles so after our game we all sat down at the table again and each kid got their muffins and 5 cups of sprinkles and got to decorate their own cakes. Then it was time for singing, cake and ice cream and snacks. We finished off the party with presents and some time to play with the new toys. i think it went off very well and Wesley had a blast so that is the most important part. I am so glad that everyone invited made it to the party and that everything went according to plan! photo P2020077web_zpsb45673bf.jpg photo P2020078web_zps5b38e7d5.jpg photo P2020079web_zpse1303e7e.jpg photo P2020080web_zps471facd7.jpg photo P2020081web_zps7ebb0b36.jpg photo P2020082web_zps0d659bc0.jpg photo P2020084web_zpse820da07.jpg photo P2020087web_zps8f8e4ab0.jpg photo P2020089web_zps7b9348d3.jpg photo P2020090web_zps1627683f.jpg photo P2020091web_zps543a67f0.jpg photo P2020095web_zpscb8a6ddb.jpg photo P2020096web_zps95f8f0f8.jpg photo P2020098web_zpsacfeb403.jpg photo P2020099web_zps993b16fb.jpg photo P2020101web_zps7e1a567e.jpg photo P2020105web_zps593cb19c.jpg photo P2020107web_zps72efa195.jpg photo P2020109web_zps8885b405.jpg photo P2020110web_zps0db89bb4.jpg photo P2020111web_zps1f32886f.jpg photo P2020113web_zps5826a3af.jpg photo P2020115web_zpsea33dbde.jpg photo P2020115web_zpsea33dbde.jpg photo P2020116web_zpse40b9c38.jpg photo P2020117web_zpsb9a9e57e.jpg photo P2020120web_zps695e3cff.jpg photo P2020121web_zps820848c3.jpg photo P2020123web_zps9aae2b9c.jpg photo P2020124web_zps6bab2f69.jpg photo P2020126web_zps69508d02.jpg photo P2020127web_zps51b07539.jpg photo P2020133web_zpsc0338451.jpg photo P2020134web_zpsce1e2a22.jpg photo P2020141web_zpscf3632e4.jpg photo P2020146web_zpsa889f22d.jpg photo P2020148web_zpse9b7fc06.jpg photo P2020150web_zpsa8c0c3f7.jpg photo P2020152web_zps4db8dcbd.jpg photo P2020155web_zps3343b7ff.jpg
