Paint!

Today I got to see Les Mis with Mom and Dad and my friends Sarah. It was AMAZING. The movie was so fantastic, I haven't cried that much in a movie since Dobby Died in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" (part 1). I am so blessed to have such wonderful baby sitters here, and to have my family close and to have great friends. After the movie, I took Hannah home and then we headed over to Mom's house. Mom and I spent the afternoon/evening painting pictures. Ella also painted one. Wes decided not to paint and just played with the Christmas train instead. I LOVE the way my pictures turned out. Now I just have to find a place to hang them. I used some art from a Google search to base my pictures off of. I changed them bit, and added things and made them my own. Christmas part two!

After presents were open and everyone got dressed we headed over to Nana and Grandpa for second Christmas. We got there right around 8:30 and got straight to work on the enormous pile of presents. I got just what I wanted, a sewing machine, a rice steamer and a 4 slice toaster. The kids got loaded down with tons of gifts. At the very end, Nana and Grandpa brought out the piece de resistance... Wesley's main gift of a ride-on motorized fire truck. he LOVED it. He was so excited to try it out so we took him out and let him ride around in the street while Ella played with her new scooter. It didn't take him long to figure out how to use the truck and he would have stayed out all day if we had let him. After we went inside, Mom and I cooked a delicious Christmas brunch of pancakes, omelets, bacon, potato pancakes and popovers. It was delicious! The kids played with their toys while the grown-ups played a game of "Munchkin:" a game that I got for Christmas. It was a little complicated to figure it out, but once we did it was very fun! We had a nice afternoon and a dinner of 14 different cheeses with lunch meats, crackers and salads. We ended the night with one more game of Munchkin and a kids movie before heading home to crash. I had a wonderful Christmas day with my family. I am so very very lucky! I am also super excited for tomorrow when Mom, Dad and I are going to go see Les Mis in the theater. Thanks to my Wonderful Hannah, who will watch the kids, I get to go! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas too! Christmas part one!

We had a wonderful Christmas today. We started off at home with just he 4 of us. We opened the stockings and then the kids handed out all the gifts from under the tree. That was my job when I was a kid and I loved reading out the names and handing out the presents. Now that Ella is old enough to read well, I decided to let her take over the present duty. Wes was so excited to grab the gifts from Ella and put them in the right piles. Everyone loved their gifts, and we had a nice morning together.
