The roarin' 20's!

Yesterday Jon and I brought the 20's back at our Game Night with friends. We did a theme this time of the 20's/speakeasy. We all brought Mocktails and other mixed drinks (non-alcoholic of course) and food and had a rip-roaring good time. It was a blast. The hosts ended up getting caught out on the road and were about 1.5 hours late but it was fine because their kids let us in and we had a wonderful time talking and laughing in their house until they got there. After they arrived, we played cards and enjoyed a wonderful evening with friends. photo P1180007web_zpsc754e232.jpg photo P1180008web_zps1766dce7.jpg photo P1180011web_zpsd580cd47.jpg photo P1180010web_zps469c2178.jpg photo P1180013web_zps3ca4c7ba.jpg

Alabama weather...

So it is totally normal in Alabama for us to have Snow on Thursday (as mentioned in a previous post) and have clear sky's in the Mid 50's on Saturday. I am grateful that the snow melted to fast and we have a nice 3 day weekend ahead of us! photo P1190016web_zpsc7facc3b.jpg photo P1190019web_zpsed912a7d.jpg photo P1190020web_zps7a71b8f7.jpg photo P1190024web_zpsf825037e.jpg photo P1190025web_zpseb1a6700.jpg

Wesley's early birthday!

Since Wesley's birthday is in 3 weeks, we decided to have a "Grandma Birthday" while she was here so she could seen him open his presents (and avoid shipping costs) He loved his presents and the kids have been playing almost non-stop with the Angry Birds race track. Jon's Birthday!

Jon's birthday was on a Sunday this year so on Saturday night we got a babysitter and Laura (Jon's mom) took us out to dinner at Landry's a very nice seafood resteraunt. I had called ahead to make a reservation and when we got there we were taken to a table with a VIP reserved sign on it with flowers and personalized menus! The hostess, waiter, manager, general manager and the Chef all came by at some point to wish Jon a happy birthday. They were very attentive and nice to us all night. We had some AWESOME food and delicious dessert. It was great! On Sunday, we had family dinner at Mom and Dad's as usual, but since it was Jon's birthday he got to pick the menu. He chose WHOLE fish (heads, tales everything), Steak, roasted potatoes and Coleslaw. It came out fantastic. Mom and I made the fish, and potatoes and Mom did the coleslaw and Steak. The Steak was Ah-Mazing! the fish was good according to everyone else, but I don't eat fish with bones in it. Jon loved his birthday dinner. I have a feeling he is going to ask me to make it for him again. blech. Grandma came to visit!

Last week my M-i-L came to visit us. We had a quiet and fun week with her. Since it was rainy all but one day we didn't do a lot outdoors, but it was at least warm for most of the visit! Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Yuck

It is snowing. A LOT (for Alabama) it is not just Snowing, but the snow is STICKING TO THE GROUND. and not just to the roofs and grass to the ROADS AND CEMENT. Armageddon is upon us I fear. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Family time

I love spending time with my family. A few nights ago, we went out for Mexican for dinner. I had fun being silly with the kids while we waited for dinner. Also, Wesley got a crown on his first day of Sunbeams that says "I am a child of God". He REALLY likes this crown. he has worn it for at least part of every day since then. Trains!

Today I am not feeling 100% so we stayed home most of the day. Wes and I built train tracks together and had lots of quiet fun. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket
