Misc

No theme today I am afraid. I am too tired for themes. It has been a somewhat trying day. Not really because anything bad or unexpected happened, we actually did some fun things today. I am just feeling... done. Done with all the drudgery that goes along with motherhood. Done taking care of people. Done of cleaning only to have it messed up before I can finish. Done with Sick kids (and spouses, and self). Done watching what I eat and feeling deprived, or not watching what I eat and feeling guilty. I need a vacation.

Today started out nice. We went to Mom's and worked out, finally trying to get back on that train since it left the station in Jan when my Mom hurt herself. Then Mom made me help her garden. I don't like gardening, I do like my Mom however, so I helped. After planting a few things in places Mom couldn't reach (now why she needed plants in places she can't reach I will never know!) I went over to Mad square mall to return some b-day presents that didn't quite fit. Dad loves to buy me clothes, and usually he does a great job. but this time, a few of the things he picked out just didn't fit. So back they went. The kids were great in the store, Wes sat in the stroller and didn't whine (too much) and Ella only ran around a little. I didn't find exactly what I wanted (a plain colored skirt) but I did find a nice pair of grey pants that should look nice with my new clothes. Then I took the kids up to the food court to play a little for reward for being good. We had Chick-fil-a for lunch (bit surprise right?) and Ella ate NOTHING. For those of you who are familiar with Ella's eating habits, this is unusual. Wesley ate some, but not a ton. He has barely eaten since he got sick 2 weeks ago. I however ate, my and Ella's lunch... blech, bad mommy! After playing it was home for naps. Wes went right to sleep, Ella did too. After WAY to short of a time, Wes woke up crying.

He had poop-sploded. Everywhere. Including on his precious Seahorse. Let me tell you, Seahorse didn't smell good. I tried washing him, but he still smells like poop. After I got Wes out of the bath, I knocked against the "guts" of Seahorse and it started playing its music. Wes heard and came running over to see. He was quite dismayed. He grabbed the guts and held it to his face, the he saw Seahorses carcass laying on my desk. He pointed and grunted so I gave him the wet stinky doll. He looked at the guts in one hand and the carcass in the other and then at me. "eh?" he said to me. "Eh?" and handed me first the guts then the poor bedraggled carcass. I told him that I couldn't fix the seahorse right now and put them back. He looked totally offended and grabbed them back. "Eh?" he said again and banged the two pieces together. He kept trying to "fix" his friend, So after everyone was bathed and clean, I loaded up both kids and headed to walmart to replace seahorse. I will try machine washing the guy, but I don't have high hopes. At walmart they only had the PINK seahorse. Lucky for me, Wes didn't seem to care. He was only mad that the seahorse in the package would only play a demo of his song and not the whole thing. Thank goodness he is flexible about his lovey!
Jon came home sick, so he is not feeling well. Poor Jon, it isn't fun to be sick. Now I put everyone to bed early so I could have some peace and quiet and watch America's next top model in piece. TiVO, you better not have screwed up my recording!

Jon loves all the beautiful pear trees we have around here. Every year they bloom so beautifully. The remind me of the primary song. Jon has always wanted on of these trees, so last year Ella and I bought him one for the front yard. It was too late in the season for blooms, so this is the first time we have had any. Jon is so proud of his tree.!

Also, Easter is this week. I (I mean the Easter Bunny) hasn't finished shopping yet, so still have that to do. I did get a chance to take Ella out today to take some pictures of her in her Easter dress. She is sick, but was a great willing model. Wes doesn't have an Easter outfit so he just watched from the stroller.
I love it when Ella cooperates!

Having a swinging good time with Food Storage

Everyone LOVES our hammock that we got in Mexico. It is lots of fun!

Jon and I are also working on building up our food storage. It is a lot of work! Today I went shopping at Publix because they were having a really nice BOGO sale. They had all kinds of pasta for about $0.70/lb, pasta sauce for $1.19/jar, and Jon's favorite crackers at less than $1.50/box. I don't normally shop at Publix, but when my mom tole me about the pasta and sauce, I decided to go get some. I think I did pretty well. I got
16 jars pasta sauce
30 lb of assorted pasta
8 9oz boxes of crackers
2 cake mixes
6 can chicken broth
2 cans pineapple
3 cans oranges
8 cans tomatoes
8 cans corn
4 cans each of peas and potatoes.
All for about $70
I think I did good, but the shopping gurus would know more about that. If I got a horrible deal, don't tell me though, I don't want to know!

More birthday fun

Today was Sunday dinner at Mom and Dad's house. Since it was my Birthday yesterday, I got to choose the menu. I asked for this DELICIOUS Weight Watchers recipe for Chicken with asparagus and pine nuts. It is so yummy! I also got to request a dessert for my b-day (this counts as my "cake") So I asked for a WW ricotta cheese cake. It... was less than impressive. I don't blame Mom, I am sure she did it right, It just didn't taste good. Oh well, can't win 'em all I suppose. I had a nice time celebrating with my family tonight. I love birthdays! Now I get to start planning for Ella's special day in just a few weeks.

Finished (a post from friday)

So several people told me that I had missed posting on Friday. I was like, no way! I totally posted on Friday. Jon had even mentioned seeing it, so I know I had posted. Well, I went to check today and my Friday post wasn't there! Then I checked my other blog.. and lo and behold, I had accidentally posted my blog post on there instead of here! So I don't know how to fix it, so I will just add Friday's post here, so I don't have a gap in my 365 blog.

Today I finished my last day at HGC. I am so ready to be done with Gym pictures for a while! I even had a dream about editing gym pictures last night! I also have not gotten ANYTHING done around the house since last Sunday. Jon is ready to have his wife back too I think. The pictures went great! I am so excited with the way that they came out. I really enjoyed working with the coaches and the girls. The team girls were especially fun, as they did all sorts of neat tricks for their pictures. One of the girls who trains there also goes to Church with us, in fact, I was her primary teacher a few years ago. Her Mom gave me permission to post her picture, I wanna show off how incredible she is! I am so grateful for the opportunity to do this job. I hope that I have impressed the owner, and the parents with my photographs. Now I am back to my slower paced life, at least until the orders come in and I have to do those!
Tomorrow I will relax, it is my 28th birthday and I plan on having FUN! No photography at all, well except for snapshots to show you all the fun we had.

Goodbye for Now HGC!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Today I turned 28. It was much like turning 27 I suppose. I had an AWESOME day. We started off having to do some chores, so after getting everyone up and ready to go, we headed off to Sam's club to do some shopping. We also had lunch there before we left.

Then it was time for the fun to begin!
We met my parents at Bridgestreet at the Monaco to see "How to train your Dragons". Which turned out to be a really good movie. We didn't see it in 3D, because Ella won't wear the glasses, they give me a headache and Jon thinks they "dim" the picture. We like our pictures in 2d thank you very much! I highly recommend the movie. We were all happy with the choice.

On the way back to the car we stopped at the carousel and each took a ride. Wesley enjoyed his first ride, and liked watching the pretty machine as well.

We also made a pit stop at our favorite ice cream place, "the orange tree" We LOVE their frozen yogurt. Honeydew melon and peach are my favorites!

After filling up on sweets, we headed back home so that Wes could take a nap. I had Jon hang our hammock we got in Mexico and I relaxed and read a book while Ella played outside.

The end of my day didn't go quite as smoothly. We were supposed to drop the kids off at Mom and Dad's house so that we could go to dinner together. We did that, but when we got to PF Changs, the wait time was 80-90min!!! So we decided to try the Mexican place across the way, also too long, so we decided to go to Outback, where there was a 40-50min wait! Finally we made it over to Sakura hibachi place where they told us there was only a 10 min wait. What they didn't tell us was that after the 10 min wait to be seated, we would be waiting an additional 30 min to have our orders taken! The food was good, but we ended up not getting home until right around 9pm, an hour after we had promised to pick up the kids!

AT my moms I had a nice surprise waiting for me. My visiting teacher had dropped off a beautiful cookie cake and a card for me! That was soooooo sweet!

Now I am exhausted, so I am going to finish this post and drop into bed.
Thank you to all who sent me well-wishes today!
