Rainbow Mountain hiking trail.

I have heard about this trail several times, and once, when Wes was little we drove up to the trail head to go for a walk thinking it was like the greenways. When we discovered that it was a true hiking trail we ended up going elseware. Today we wanted to do a nice family activity, but not the same stuff we do all the time, so I suggested we try the trail again. It was absolutely fabulous! The kids did a great job and both walked the whole way. It was not a trail for the faint of heart, there were lots of giant boulders to climb on through and over but we all had a blast! Wes kept telling me that it was a "super fun mountain to climb". At the bottom of the hill before heading back up the trail to our car we stopped and had a pick-nick lunch. There is a stream and a little "waterfall" there. after the hike we were all hot and tired, so we went over to bruesters and had ice creams. It was a fantastic family outing and I would love to do it again sometime. It would also be a fantastic place to do pictures! We had great timing, because while it was overcast and gloomy the whole time we were hiking, it waited to rain until we were in the car on the way to ice cream.

  1. I just gotta say - it looks weird to see Mike with his arm around Shannon!
