Projects

Today was a day of projects. We started off with a trip to Home Depot to do their Kids project. On the First Saturday of each month they have a free project for kids to do. They get their very own orange apron, and a pin to commemorate the event. Today they were making chair flower planters. Ella had a blast hammering, she was VERY proud of herself and the planter that she made. After we were all done making things, we went to breakfast with Dad and Brenna, then to a flea market. Dad got the girls a bunch of things, and Jon got himself a video game. After the market we headed over to a building surplus store to look at tile for the fireplace. We have been wanted to tile over the brick for some time, so we found a tile we really like, and decided to get to it. After a quick stop at Dad's hardware store for some tools we headed home, put the kids to bed and got started. Jon measured and cut, and I mortared and set the tile. We did a fantastic job if I do say so myself. Now we just have to wait for it to dry and we will do the grout, and paint the "stucco" we did around the fireplace instead of tile.

We are so handy!
