The grand canyon

Today we got up and went to see the Grand Canyon.  It was HOT HOT HOT and very high altitude so mom and I were having some trouble breathing.  Our first hike was a "short paved trail" which was true, but they failed to mention that it was also very much UP and DOWN.  It was a rough hike but we made it. The view was awesome though so I *guess* it was worth it.

After the hike we stopped at the visitor center store and got some Popsicles to cool down, and some souvenirs too.  Then we drove to another part of the canyon for lunch and another hike.  This part had a "window" area that you could look at from far away, and also go walk on.  Some of us did both, some stayed behind and relaxed.  

After that hike we were all worn out and hot and tired. So we went back to the camp to rest.  Dad made a water play tent for the kids with big buckets filled with water.  The rest of us rested and read under another canopy.
