Paper airplanes and tubing on the river.

Jon and the kids started and ended Wednesday  by making paper airplanes and flying them off of the balcony.  This was a fascinating activity for everyone.  Jon experimented with all kinds of airplanes and the kids tried to get their airplanes to do anything but spiral strait down to their doom.  Most of the airplanes were disappointing, but there were a few good ones.

After everyone was ready for the day we headed over to "River Rats" tube rental to go tubing down the river.  Since James was too small to go, He and I stayed back at the rental place while everyone else went down the "easy" river.  It took them about 2 hours to make it down to the exit point then a short bus ride back to the starting point.  Once everyone was back, Mom, Chris and the boys decided they wanted to go home so they took Jamie with them back to the cabin while the rest of us went on the "upper river" which was 8yrs and up.  It was so much fun!  There were plenty of rapids and fast parts of the river.  We stopped at a rope swing for a while and everyone but Kristy gave it a try.  Elinor LOVED it and went over and over and over again.  At the end of the upper run there is a little ice cream stand.  Dad got everyone ice creams for a treat.  Kristy dropped hers on the ground, (and mine down her front!) but they were nice enough to give her a new one. They were really giant ice creams, and very tasty.  After we were all done, we decided to go one more time down the river before heading home.  It was a super awesome day, and Jon's favorite activity of the whole week.
