Quilt and a Hair cut

I have made a quilt for each of my kids and I have been struggling to get James' done before he is born.  I got some fantastic Dino fabric and chose a dark blue and red to compliment it.  I love the playful dino's and I found a pattern that made a really nice square in square pattern for the quilt.

Once I got all the squares done, I chose a dark brown fabric for the lattice work around the squares and a matching brown fleece for the backing.  I wanted to put James' name on the quilt and my friend Megan was kind enough to help me do that with her embroidery machine.  We got the cutest Dino/Monster font and put his name on the bottom of the quilt.  Then we put his birthday in the corner and the quilt top is done!  Now I just have to get the backing sewn on and it will be ready for the baby.

After finishing up at Megan's Wes and I ran over to Great clips to get haircuts.  I don't like messing with my hair when I have a newborn, I just want it out of my way, so I got a cut inspired by "Mary Margaret" from "Once upon a time"  I really like the way it came out!  And it should be easy to manage and very low maintenance for the first few months of James' life.
