We're so Glad when Ella comes home!

Ella has been gone for a week with my Mom up to Wisconsin visiting my Sister and her family. We have all missed her very much. She got home this afternoon and Wesley is so very glad to see her.... Leapster :)



He has been pining its absence all week. I think he is glad to see his sister too, but he won't look up from the game long enough for me to find out.

Ella is glad to be home but even gladder to have her cousin here.

So after sewing 60 applique blocks and 12 embroidered spells in 7 days I finished putting the quilt top together today. Each block is outlined in a blue fabric with "HP" all over it. Next step is to cut the white boarder strips and embroider the Hogwarts school song on that, then sew it onto the quilt top and then into the home stretch with putting on the back and quilting it.

Running out of ideas.

I finished 8 more squares this afternoon/evening. Now I am running out of ideas. I have a few more things on my list, but most of them I either CAN"T do, or haven't figured out how to do yet. I now have 55 squares. I sorted them into books today and found out that I have only 2 squares from " The order of the phoenix" I would love some idea's for more squares from my Harry Potter friends, especially things that make you think of book 5. I cannot do faces/people (they look terrible!) i am not too good with 3d things like buildings and such and I am only so-so with animals. With those limitations, care to share and suggestions?

Getting there

Last night I set out my 40+ squares on my bed to see how much progress I had made. I think I am doing pretty good! I think between the edging and the spell squares I am planning on making I don't need too many more applique squares to finish. After putting wes to bed, I made 5 more squares and this morning I sewed them plus the leftover one from earlier that day together.
