sick, sick, sick

Thursday in Utah was great. We had a nice calm morning. We headed up to Bethany's house around lunch time and did a photoshoot for her kids. Then we all went to "Soldiers Hollow" to go tubing. It was AMAZING! Wes hated it, but he was a trooper. He was too young to go down the big slopes, so he stayed on the bunny slope with various grown-ups. Ella LOVEd it and was the only kid other than her 8 year old cousin to go for the whole time without breaks. I have never had so much fun sledding, the not having to walk up the hill part was a big part of that I think.













Friday was another fun day. Wes woke up REALLY sick so I spent the morning trying to find a Dr to take him to. I finally located an Urgent Care center who took walk-ins but only after 5. So we decided to continue with our original plans and bring him in then. We met up with our friends, Kate and Hamilton, and James and Sinead at a nice restaurant in Salt Lake called Tocano's it is a Brazilian barbaque and it was great! The kids were all well behaved and the food was awesome. Since wes was feeling so poorly, we all headed back to Laura's house after lunch to hang out there. We played games, chatted and had a BLAST together. Kate and Ham went out and got us Pizza for dinner while I took Wes to the Urgent Care. Turns out he had pink eye and a raging ear infection. We got his meds and then went back home to finish hanging with our friends.





The next day was going home day. I had packed just about everything the day before so we all got washed and dressed and I packed up the last few things. Laura took us out to breakfast at a local diner. While we were there, Wes broke out in Hives. I was worried that it might be his antibiotics so back to the urgent care I went while Jon took Laura home and loaded up the car. The Dr told us that it Could be a reaction, so just in case, stop the meds until we could see our regular Dr. Then rush rush rush to the airport, check-in, security, and then wait wait wait because our plane was delayed for 1 hour. We missed lunch due to the late planes so it was a LONG day. When we finally arrived in Birmingham, we were met by my Mom, my little sister Kerri (Who just flew in from NEW ZEaLAND the day before) and her BF Eric. it was so nice to see Kerri after 2 years apart!

On Sunday we all stayed home sick, and monday too. I took Wes to his Dr on Monday and now he has an ear infection in BOTH ears! so now we have new antibiotics and hopefully a kid on the mend. He needs to be better by friday, since that is his birthday party!
