Rainy days and mondays..

Jon woke up today S.I.C.K. so he stayed home from work. There is so much to do! I don't have time for both grownups to be sick. We worked around the house for a few hours then i took James to his music class. He loves that class so much! After class we had work to do.. We went to Sams and aldi and got all our groceries for the week. Then it was home for nap time. In the afternoon daddy was feeling a bit better so he and James built another tent.  After the kids got home i took them to piano and we had dinner. Finished the night off attempting to do karate class. I hope poor Jon is feeling better tomorrow because his mommy comes from Utah tomorrow.

Happy birthday dear jamie

Today was my babies 3rd birthday. Even though i have strep and feel like crap i tried to make it special for him. He got eggs for breakfast and watched a movie. While i was at the drs office he and daddy took a shower and got ready for the day.  We played a bit and then went to his favorite restaurant for lunch chick fil a. He told everyone there that it was " happy birthday Jamie" and had a great time playing. After nap the big kids came home and he got to open his presents. He got a tent building set so Jon and i built him a big tent to play in. He loved it! I didn't get to see the rest of his evening since i had to take Elinor to derby but i think his birthday was a good one anyway. I love my little baby boy!

I hate being sick

I went to bed last night feeling horrible. Fell asleep around 8:30. Woke up feeling awful too. I think i have strep like the kids... Blah. I still had to teach primary so i drugged myself up and did an awesome job then went straight home to sleep for the next 5 hours. I got up just in time for Jamie's birthday dinner at nana and grandpas. I had to leave early though because i still felt like crap. I am ready to go to bed even though it is only 7:30. I hope i am feeling better tomorrow for Jamie's actual birthday. I have too much to do to be sick

Saturday

Today is the last Saturday for a whole month that i don't have something going on so we took advantage of that. I spent a greater part of the morning working on my special singing time lesson. Then the whole family went out to the green way and took a nice long walk. We picked up some Mexican takeout on our way home. While James was napping i relaxed with the big kids and Jon went on a nice long bike ride. After dinner Jon and i took one more walk while Elinor minded the boys. All in all a nice calm day before the storm of the next month.

Another sick day

Today wes got another sick day from school. We played board games and watched movies and did some work too. Nana took the noys for a bit and i ran some errands. I got a bunch of stuff for wesleys birthday party went to the post office and delivered some photography fliers. When i got home i made some great ball party favor holders for the party and printed the invitations. In the evening jon and i went to a free concert at the church. It was nice.

Sick

Today wesley woke up crying that his ears, head and throat hurt. Turned out he had a fever so he stayed home from school. That meant all my plans for the day were canceled. Boo. We went to the dr and wes has strep. Boo again. James really enjoyed watching the train in the waiting room.  The rest of the day was spent nursing my poor sick boy and playing with james. Wes cant go to school tomorrow so we will have another day at the house i guess.

The early bird gets the .... Nap?

Today i woke up at 5am to the screams of my youngest child. I lept out of bed to find him crying in his bed surrounded by a puddle of milk, his big sister trying to sop it up with a woefully inadequate amount of paper towels and his big brother bouncing up and down in his bed. I am informed that he has been up since 4:30 and Wesley tried to help by tucking him in, reading him books and finally bringing him an (open) cup of milk. I appreciate the effort dude! So i sent the big ones back to bed, took baby potty and brought him to my bed. After a very long 10 min of "mommy, hey mommy" " whats that mommy?" And "mommy sleep? Daddy sleep?" I remembered why we don't co-sleep. I dragged myself out of bed, cleaned up the puddle of milk, searched fruitlessly for a new sheet and finally resorted to a blanked wrapped around the mattress before depositing the wee one back in his own bed. Sadly for me i wasn't able to fall back asleep. I discovered at 6 that neither was James so we all just got up. Sigh.

The only bright side in this tail is that because we were up and fed uncharacteristically early, we were able to join mom for a fun and productive morning.  We went to moms drs appt. Then picked up some documentation for my sister so she can apply for her New Zealand citizenship. Then since we were downtown anyway we went to big spring park for a poke-walk. James loved the park, i don't think he has ever been there before. After our walk we stopped for some bahn mi sandwiches, picked some stuff up at the store and dropped some lunch off for Jon. Then we went home and it was nap-time!!! James and both took naps and it was awesome. I felt so much better after. The rest of the day was normal, big kids came home , homework , piano, dinner and derby.

One highlight of the evening is that EllaGator was selected to be on the roster for the first away game in Savannah GA next month. She is super stoked about that.

Music class

Today was james and my first day back to music class since befor christmas. It is so fun! I love singing and dancing with him. He really loves music. We were too busy partisipating to take pictures but it was all smiles today. After class we met our friends at chick fil a for lunch. The rest of the afternoon was pretty peaceful. Piano for the big kids where they both did a great job and git to pick the songs for their upcoming recital ( shiny from moana for elinor and the angry birds theme for wes). After dinner james found a long piece of ribbon and had the best time running around the house with it dragging behind him and the cats chasing after. It was adorable. I finished my night at karate class. It was a great class and now i am pooped. 

Typical monday

Today was a busy Monday, but that is typical for me.  Started the morning doing paperwork and photography stuff. Also got 2 loads of laundry in. By 10 we were out of the house and on to our shopping.  Krogers aldis and Sams club plus a stop at Alexanders martial arts to drop off pics. After lunch with Jon, James and i headed home. James napped while i did the prep for all of our dinners this week. I find if i do all the chopping and other prep work on Mondays making dinner goes smoother and faster the rest if the week. After the kids got home i supervised chores and piano, met with the primary president and then served the family dinner. Now i am relaxing at the roller rink while Elinor does derby practice. It is nice to have a little down time after this busy day.

3 weeks!

I am so happy that i am finished with the first 3 weeks.  I had forgotten how hard this blog a day can be! Today was Sunday and 8 must say i am really enjoying 9 am start time. It makes things more rushed in the early morning but having the whole afternoon open is nice. Today i got up early and made brownies for Jon's Sunday school class and finished my primary lesson then it was off to church. We played musical measles for singing time and the kids had a blast putting stickers all over me!  This evening we took Wesley to the baptism preview at church and then right after i dropped everyone off at home and headed out to a missionary farewell. (Good luck Allie!) it was a nice evening and a wonderful Sunday.

Oh the cleverness of me

I spent several hours last night trying to fix my mysteriously not working phone. I tried everything i could find on google, talked to the service rep at lg and followed all the tutorials on youtube and nothing worked. The lg guy said i would have to send it in to be services. The last thing i had to try before​ sending it away was to leave the battery out over night and try once again to factory reset the phone. This morning i put the battery back in and lo and behold when i tried the factory reset it worked and the phone functioned again! Of course all my apps, pictures and contacts were gone but i will stay happy that the phone works. I got the phone working just in time to head out the door for a church meeting. Dad took the kids to a movie and lunch while i was gone so after the meeting i grabbed some lunch for me and Jon. I spent the early afternoon trying to find a way to get my contacts back after i figured out how to restore my apps. When dad brought the kids home i put James to bed and left the boys with Elinor so Jon and i could go out. The weather couldn't be nicer, sunny and 69*! Jon and i went on a nice long pokewalk. We went down the Indian creek greenway and caught a ton of great creatures. We picked up some pizza and a movie (kubo and the 2 strings) on the way home and finished the day with a family night. So thankful for technology and the patience to deal with it tonight.

Dead phone

Not much to blog today, and no pics because my phone mysteriously died this afternoon.  It wasn't dropped or anything.  Thankfully it is under warranty, so I should be able to get it fixed.  Before it broke it was a great day, I went to the YMCA with mom and then we sewed most of the day.  We made 2 purses for our Etsy shop.  I love hanging out with my mom.  Hopefully better blog post will come when I get my phone fixed.

Great day

Today was a great day. It did start with another trip to the dentist, but i guess i will forgive it for that as the rest of the day was so nice. Today my friend Nichole taught a card making class at my MoPS group and my friend Janet joined me to participate. It was awesome having my friends with me. Also i really love mops, they are such a wonderful group of ladies. After mops mom watched James​ for me while i went to a dr. Appt which was just a blood draw and blessedly short. Then i spent the rest of the afternoon working on pictures until i cooked dinner after dinner i helped Elinor finish her science project board.  Think she did such a good job on it! And then i went to karate. James was much better behaved and i am so glad he took a nap! I am sorry happy i got to spend the day with friends.

Derby pics

Ah Wednesday. Not my favorite day today.  Started with a root canal. I hate going to the dentist so a root canal is not on my top 10 list of fun things to do. But i endured and now i just have to make it though getting the permanent filling tomorrow and i am safe from dentists for 6 months. After the root canals i worked with mom on my ren faire costume and made a Pikachu purse. This evening i too Elinor to roller derby and took more derby pics for the team. So the day ended up a lot better than it started.

Crafty

Today was such a nice day. James got up very early for him, 6:15. I was dreading the day because usually when he gets up early he is not exactly well behaved. But he was surprisingly good all morning. Since we were up and ready for the day early we spent the morning at nanas house crafting. We cut out the skirt for my ren fair costume and made a tote bag for moms business. Then  we went to lunch at chickfila. After lunch i went back to moms and we made a messenger bag too. We finished right before the kids got home from school. Then i went home and made diner before​ taking the kids to piano. Then i got to go sparring at karate.  Tomorrow wont be as fun i have a root canal.
