Field Trip to the Botanical Gardens

I had the wonderful pleasure of getting to chaperon Ella's class field trip to the Bot gardens.  It was a long, but rewarding day.  We stared with a bus ride from the school, then we listened to the gardens representative talk about the life of a butterfly.  Then we split into groups, we started out in the Butterfly house, where we got to do a scavenger hunt to look for different butterflies.  After we had explored the house, we went tot he pond and "fished" for a while.  No one caught any fish, but the kids had fun.  We finished our tour back at the butterfly house for a movie about butterflies.  Then we had lunch.  We spent the rest of our time that day split up into small groups and exploring the rest of the gardens on our own.  I ended up with just 2 kids, Ella and her friend Nate.  We had a wonderful time!  Finally it was the end of the day and we took the bus back to school and headed home.  It was a wonderful day with my girly pie.
