In the leafy treetops

Today in singing tim we learned on of my favorite spring time songs " in the leafy treetops"  i made these cool singing hirds and some flower headbands to help us have fun while we learned.

Busy saturday

Today was a busy day. I started with a photoshoot in athens. While i was out, jon mowed the lawn and helped the kids clean the house and fold laundry. It was so amazing to come home to a nice clean house. Jon spent the rest of the day building a shed for the lawn mowers and bikes with dad. I kept the kids busy and out of the way. They had lits of fun playing trains together. In the evening, the big kids and i went to a potluck at church.

Free friday!

Today was a weather day for the kids. Since we didnt use the day for weather during the school year, we get a free day off. We had a great morning. We went to the park. Wesley caught a frog! He was so excited to hold it. Then we met our friends at wendys for lunch befor going to go see lego batman at the $1 theater. It was such a nice morning out with my kiddos. The evening was great too... Jon and i went to a movie (circle) with the elisons.

Sewing

Today we were supposed to do soe embroidery work for a friend so we went down to nanas and worked on a quilt for a friend while we waited for her. But then she got called to her kids school last min and had to bail so i finished the part i was working on and we went home. We had to stick around all day because we thought we had a burst pipe under the house. (A problem that has happened befor) so i was waiting for an emergency plumber to come and check it out.  One finally came and the problem was foubd and solved very easily.... The kids had left the garden hose on. :(.  I felt like a moron but the guys assured me that this sort of thing happens all the time. They didnt even charge me for the visit! So that was a waste of my day!

Sunshiny day

Today we had absolutely no plans, so we decided to go to the park. We played there al for a long time. James favorite thing of the day was collecting ricks, climbing to the top of the play structure and sliding the rocks down the big slide. After we were done we met daddy for lunch. It was such a nice morning.

Music and lunch

Today was a really good day. James and i spent the morning at nanas house working on a baby quilt for a friend. Then we went to music class. They had a new prop there today, ribbon wands! All the kids were thrilled to play with them. James loved it. After music we met Janet for lunch. James hasnt been napping so we ended up staying for a long time. We didnt get home until after 2. After school i took the kids to piano and after dinner i actually felt good enough to go to karate!

Monday

Today was pretty low key. I did paperwork in the morning, meal planning, shopping, lunch with jon and quiet time. James has decided that naps are for chumps and this pregnant mama really needs one so i let him watch a movie on my bed while i rested. It worked pretty good so we may try it again today. Left overs for dinner and then derby practice. It was a nice quiet monday.

Sushi sunday

Today was Elinor's birthday sunday. Since Nana had to go to Kentucky to take care of Mimi after surgery it fell tome to make her dinner request, which was Sushi. I made snow crab rolls, crunchy shrimp rolls, California rolls and avacado rolls. It all was delicious.

Birthday party for Elinor

Today we have a busy day planned. Elinors birthdayvparty in the morning and a roller derby game in the afternoon. Her party was Warrior cat themed. I think it went pretty well. We played Warrior's bingo, painted cat masks, had a water lapping contest, and hunted animals in the yard. We finished with pizza, lemon ice cream cake and some playtime in Grandpas back yard. It was supposed to be held at my house but it rained all morning so we moved to grandpas covered porch. Of course in the end it didn't rain at all during the party so it was unnecessary, but it all worked out fine. I tgink elinor and her friends had a lot of fun.

We had just enough time after the party to get everything cleaned up befor heading to the derby game. It was a Rebel on Rebel mixer and Elinor was on the Purple team. They lost, but it was a hard fought battle. Elinor got to jam like 5 times and she did and awesome job. One jam she got like 12 points! I love watching her play.
