The Magic Kingdom!

Today was day one of our Disney Adventure.  We headed out to the Magic Kingdom early.  We wanted to get there before the park opened, but getting 15 people up and ready by 8 ended up being more challenging than I thought.  Add in the fact that you have to take a bus/ferry/monorail from the parking area to the entrance of the park, and we were a bit late.  Not too horribly late though, and we still made it through security and into the park right about opening time.  Mom, Kristy and I had spent many hours planning the perfect Disney Vacation, and we entered the part with laminated schedules and park maps in hand ready to conquer the day.

We started out at the Jungle Cruise, we were supposed to go to Pirates next, but it was closed so we went to the Enchanted Tiki then on Splash mountain. While I was on the rider swap second go around because Jamie was too short for SM, the rest of the crew went to the country bear Jamboree before we joined back up for Pirates which was now open.  After Pirates, James and I got in line to meet Woody and Jessie.  Everyone else headed to the Haunted Mansion and got in line.  i thought James would be so excited to meet his favorite characters, and he was the whole time in like, jumping up and down and yelling "I see Jessie, i see Woody!" but when it was his turn he was suddenly very shy.  I had to pick him up to get him close to the characters and he was very star-struck and would barely say hello.  He finally did hug each of them and we got a great picture.  I am glad he got to meet them, we may try again later to see if it goes better.  After we got our turn, we went over to get in line for the Haunted mansion too.  We couldn't find the group, so we just went through by our selves.  When we got out, we found the group and it was time for lunch!

After lunch, we went to "It's a Small World" and on the carousel before we got in line for our first fast pass at "Enchanted tales with Belle"  Jon and Dad got picked as the suits of armor, and Elinor got to be the beast!  Brenna and Jonas were various random dishes as well.  They all had fun helping Bell to act out the story of how Beauty and Beast fell in love.  After the story was over, all the kids got to have their pictures taken with Belle.  

After Belle, we rode the Barn Stormer, a kiddy coaster and those who wanted to went on the Mad Tea cups.  Then we went to tomorrow land and rode Space Mountain, the Carousel of progress and Buzz Lightyear's space man spin.  Dad bought James an awesome Buzz Lightyear toy at the exit of the ride and Jamie was just over the moon about it.  He had a deathgrip on it the rest of the night.  After Buzz, we ate dinner.  It had started raining so we were all a little damp and the restaurant was crowded but the food was good.  

After dinner, we went to the Monsters Inc Laugh floor.  The last ride on our list was Stitch's Great Escape.  James wasn't big enough for that ride either, so those of us who were tired headed back to the cars while the rest went to the ride before joining us at home.  We left the park late, around 9 o'clock and we were all TIRED.  We got home and went straight to bed.  It was a wonderful first day at the parks.
