For my Birthday Jon gave me a pass for a "day off" of being a Mom. My Mom offered to go out with me and take me places as her gift for me. Since I am having surgery on Thursday, we needed to do the day off now, or wait until I was healed so we did it right away. Today was AMAZING!
I started off the day sleeping in and then reading in bed. After a bit I got showered and dressed and then I walked over to Jack's with Jon and Jamie for breakfast. Mom met us on our way home and we started our day of fun.
Our first stop was Larry's pistol and pawn where we shot up some paper zombies. Neither of us are very good shots, but we had fun! We went through at least 300 rounds while we were there. When our range time was up, we left the shop and headed to our next stop.
My good friends had given me a gift card to Books-a-million so we stopped there and I picked out 4 books and then we went to the local used book store and picked up a few more. Going to bookstores is dangerous! We spent a ton of money on books.
After book shopping, we went out for lunch. We had a groupon for Fulin's down in Madison so we went and had sushi and sesame chicken. Neither of us had ever been there before, but the food was fantastic!
Our next stop was Queen's Nails for Manicures and a polish change for our toes. We had pedicures 2ish weeks ago so we just got new colors instead of the full sha-bang. It was fun hanging out and chatting while our nails dried.
After our nails dried we went to Sub Zero for ice cream with another Groupon. I got Peanut butter malt with snickers and Mom got orange-pineapple- coconut with almonds. It is such a fun place to get ice cream! It was delicious too.
We finished up at about 4pm, It was time for us to seperate as Mom needed to head to go bowling with Dad and friends so I had some alone stuff planned. Originally I wanted to do an intro to scuba diving class, but they didn't have a spot open today so I went to a movie instead. I went and saw "Cinderella" all by myself. It was ok, but a bit slow. I was the only one in the theater, so that was cool too.
After the movie was over, it was time to pick up Elinor and head to our Karate classes. Then my last stop after dropping Elinor off was going out for dinner with Mom and Dad. Originally I wanted to try out the new pizza place "sam and greg's" but when we found out it was about $20 for a 12" pizza we decided to go elsewhere We ended up at applebees. They have a new special where you can make your own sampler plate with 5 items for $14 so we each picked out 5 appetizers to try. It was way too much food, but awesome to try out all the different things!
I ended the night by typing up this post while watching Netflix with Jon. It was such an amazing day. So many fun things to do, and I didn't have to do a single Mom-thing all day. No diapers, so snacks, no breaking up fights, no chores, it was awesome!! Definitely the best birthday present ever!!!
I am so greatful for my amazing Husband and how well he takes care of me.
