On Saturday Mom took Ella and Wesley to a local beauty school for a princess and pirate party while the rest of us set up for Ella's birthday party. They seemed to have a great time. Ella got a facial, finger and toenails painted, a fancy hairdo and makeup. Wes got his face painted, toenails painted, to decorate a pirate hat and go "fishing". Ella looked fantastic after her makeover. It was the perfect diversion for the kids while we all worked.
Thursday was Ella's birthday, she had to go to school that day, but after school we let her open her presents. She was very excited about her gifts, especially her guitar and her bow and arrow. After gifts, we met mom and dad for dinner at Applebee's. Ella loved her dinner and having Happy Birthday sung to her by the waiters. AFter dinner we went back to Mom and Dad's house for more presents. She was super excited about the bowling ball mom gave her. She exclaimed when she unwrapped it. "Now I have LOTS of talents! Karate, Piano, Guitar, Bow and Arrows AND BOWLING!" I love that she wants to have many talents. I think she had a great birthday.
So a month and a half after my belt test, after some ordering problems, I finally got my yellow belt to wear! Since it had been so long since I wore a belt, I made Mr. D tie it on for me. He was kind enough to humor me. I am so excited to have my belt!
