Tonight we had our regular family dinner at Nana and Grandpa's house, and since it was between the boys birthdays, we had a celebration for the two of them. Wesley picked Pizza, fruit salad and edamame for dinner and then we did presents.
Today is Jamie's birthday! We celebrated with Nana and Grandpa and opened presents and had turtle cake. Brother Soh, our home teacher stopped by to drop off a card and came right as we were doing our celebration so he stayed for a few min. James loved all his gifts, and he gets to do birthday again tomorrow at Nana and Grandpas house, and again on Monday with his friends!!
Jamie's 2nd birthday is just around the corner, so I made his cake today. He LOVES turtles, so I made him a 3D turtle birthday cake. It was only my 2nd time using fondant, but I love the way it turned out. I used the extra cake and frosting and fondant to make some little turtle "cake pops" for his party on Monday.
Today our friends invited us out to Shakalaka for their free jump time. On Weekdays they have toddler jump from 9-10 am and Kids under 3 Jump for free. We had a great time playing together, and James took a great nap afterwards!
It Snowed today. Elinor and Wesley were so excited. James didn't know what to think. He wanted so bad to go out, but thought it was way to cold and kept crying to come back in. I hope it doesn't stick around too long, I have been enjoying our warm winter.
We spent the day working on the pantry again. We originally wanted to install pull out drawer shelves but it wasn't working at all for us. We couldn't get the idea to work so we had to rethink things. Our Home Teacher suggested lazy susans instead and it was a perfect suggestion. So we cut out some giant circles of of MDF and installed them in the pantry. It turned out better than I ever imagined. We just now have to add the shelving on the bottom next to the trash can and we are done!
