Yesterday after Jon got of work, we drove over to Atlanta and checked into a fabulous hotel room that Dad had rented for us. We got the kids all settled and went to bed. Mom and Dad caught up with us around 2 am, after Dad flew back from a business trip, and they drove over after that. In the morning, we got up, had breakfast and got dressed up in our amazing costumes that Mom made for us. Then we headed over to the Georgia Renaissance Festival. We love this fair, this is our 4th time visiting it since we moved here. This year we had our rocking costumes and looked totally fab. We had such a fun day, watching shows, sitting in the special seats for the joust and eating lots of delicious faire food. Ella got to do the Maypole with the fairies, and Jon, Ella and I danced with the queen. James met the queen and stole ice out of a lady-in-waiting's cup. Jon and I got to try our hand at the bow and arrow booth and attempted to get hypnotized and the kids each got to ride 2 rides. James was very well behaved most of the day, considering he didn't get a nap. At 5, we left the fair and piled into the car to go north to Medieval Times. Dad had gotten us premier seats, front and center! While waiting for the show, dad bought Elinor and Wesley glow swords to play with, James kept trying to steal their swords so Grandpa bought him one too. He didn't want the Green one Dad bought though, he wanted Elinor's purple one! So we traded for a purple one for him too. He had so much fun running around looking for other kids to fight with the swords. Once the show started, I figured James would fall asleep pretty fast, but he was totally fascinated with the show and stayed up the whole time watching the horses. He was cheering with us, and waving his little flag too! Ella was given a flower from our knight and was so happy about that. After the show, we got some pictures with the knights and then headed back to the hotel. Tomorrow we will drive home after breakfast. It was such a fantastic weekend!!!
