We went up to Kentucky the last weekend in Aug to go to Mimi and Pops housewarming party at their brand new house! We also celebrated their anniversary. We had a nice visit and enjoyed seeing my grandparents!
Wesley got a little chest cold that landed him back in the Dr's office with another Asthma attack. Luckily after 3 treatments there he was good enough to go home and we didn't end up in the ER this time!
Ella was rezoned to a new school for this year so it was good bye Mill Creek and hello Madison Elementary! She was very excited to go to her new school, especially since it has a HUGE playground. She was also very excited to start 2nd grade. Wesley and I walked her into school and got to meet her new teacher. Mrs. Callaway.
On Saturday we left Kristy and mom in Florida at the hospital while the rest of us headed back to Al. Chris and Laura had flights to catch home from Huntsville on Sunday, and Ella and Hannah had school starting on Monday so we had no choice but to head back without the whole family. They finally released Kristy from the hospital on Sunday afternoon, so she headed back with Mom and made it to AL on Monday. She ended up staying with us an extra week to continue recuperating before finally driving home to Wisconsin. It was an interesting end to her vacation!
Friday was a much lower key day. It was a bit rainy, Kristy was at the hospital and we were all kind of tired. Jon, Laura, and I went to Apalachicola for lunch, it was delicious seafood! Then in the afternoon, we had a chopped competition. We tried to wait for Kristy to come home, but we found out that she would be staying a few more days in the hospital so we did it without her. It was Dad vs. Me and we had to make food out of Pineapple chunks, Vienna sausage and eggplant. I ended up winning by just a few points! In the evening, I took Hannah over to a local artist's shop to get a henna tattoo. She ended up choosing a seahorse that was really cute!
Thursday was an interesting day. It started out good when Jon and I rented a 3 man kayak and we all took rides. Everybody but Mom and Chris took a ride. It was fun, but scary on that tiny boat in those big waves. In the afternoon Chris ended up taking Kristy to the ER. She had started feeling sick at dinner the night before, but she tried to soldier on through until it was too much pain and they went in. It was a good thing they did though, as it turned out she had Cellulitus, a very serious infection. She ended up spending the rest of our vacation in the hospital.
