We were supposed to have a play date with one of my favorite friends today, but she woke up with a fever and had to cancel. So we made the best of things and went to "Let's play" instead. A few of our church friends happened to be there at the same time so we got to have a playdate after all! It was great, James played for 3.5 hours before i made him leave so we could get some lunch.
After the kids got home, Elinor wanted to go visit her new friend William, who lives just around the corner. I let her go but just a few min later we got a phone call saying she had been bitten by their dog. I was expecting a little nip, but when she got home she had a huge bruise, scratches and several puncture wounds. I was freaking out. Before I could get too worked up, the mom rushed home from work and came over to check on Elinor. She let us know the dog was up to date on shots and since the puncture wounds didn't seem to be too deep, and Elinor assured us she was fine we decided to take a wait and see approach. It was very scary for this poor mom.
