Ella's friend Hannah

Today I had day 4 of my Gym photoshoot. It is going really really well. But I was short a baby sitter, so our friend Hannah from Church agreed to babysit for about an hour. Just to fill the time between when I had to leave and Jon got home. Ella LOVES Hannah. H babysat for us once before, and Ella has been asking me again and again when her friend would be coming back. Ella was so excited to see Hannah today that she couldn't sleep during naptime. I suppose it went well, Jon said the kids were happy when he got home. Ella was so proud to "Help Hannah babysit Wesley" because obviously she is big enough to take care of herself!

Brunch

Today we were invited to my Visiting Teachers house for a VT Brunch. The two of them created a lovely spread of, sausage balls, French toast casserole, fruit platter, and for the kids, Gold fish and other snacks. We had a great time talking with our friends and Ella enjoyed playing with the toys. She especially liked seeing the puppies. She even got to hold B's dog. She was so excited. Thank you D and J for a lovely morning!

Firehouse

Today we went with the Church playgroup to visit the Firehouse. Ella had a great time. The kids watched a movie about fire safety, then they had a tour of the building and last they got to see the fire truck. They got to see a fireman put on all of his clothes, and also got to go inside the truck and check it out. It was a great play date!

My first day at the Gym went reasonably well, I am mostly freaked out about tomorrow, when I am doing the big 40 person team photo!!
Wish me luck.

Self portrait of the desperate kind.

It is 9 o'clock on Sunday night and everyone is in bed but me. I am totally bummed because something (probably stupid sports) ran long and my TiVO only caught the first 5 min of my favorite show (The Amazing race). So I go upstairs to surf the web when I realize that I HAVEN'T TAKEN A PICTURE TODAY! It is only March and I have failed myself...but wait, I have a solution. I will Cheat... thats right, a quick self portrait sitting at my computer desk and my reputation is saved! I was hoping it would take longer than 3 months before I had to fudge my 365 blog with pictures like this, but hey... I can stay at the top of the slippery slope, can't I? So here is my picture for today, I actually think I look pretty cute, considering.

One of the reasons there was no "real" picture to day is because I had a doosey of a weekend. I had two clients call for last min sessions, and so I ended up scheduling them both for Saturday, which made it a busy day since they were also on opposite sides of town. But to top it all off, I have a HUGE project this coming week so I really needed to not only get their pictures taken yesterday, but also edited and ready for ordering. Needless to say I did nothing but photography yesterday. But I did get it all done!
What is this huge project, you ask? Well, I have been hired to take the team, and individual pictures for Huntsville Gymnastics. I will be there everyday this week taking pictures of all the kids at the gym, as well as the team pictures for the competitive gymnasts. I am so very excited about this opportunity. I just hope I make it through alive! I will probably not have much to say this coming week, so wish me luck, and see you on the other side!

Love

I have said it before, and I will say it again, Ella LOVES her little brother. And the feeling is definitely mutual. Ella is a very sweet, attentive big sister, and a great helper for me where he is concerned. That isn't to say there isn't fighting and such, but for the most part, Ella is a model big sister. Today they played outside for hours, enjoying the sunny weather. When we came inside, Ella wanted to watch a movie on her VCR in her room, but she didn't want to watch alone, she wanted Wesley to watch with her. So she boosted him up onto the chair, and put her arm around him so he couldn't escape. Wesley was ok with this, he loves it when Ella pays attention to him. So I started the movie for them and went back to editing my photoshoot from this morning. Then about 30 min later I realized how very quiet it was in there. I went to check and Wes was sound asleep leaning on Ella's shoulder with is bottle in his mouth. I told Ella since he was asleep he needed to go in his crib, so with only slight complaints, she let me take him to bed. An hour later, I went to tell her it was nap time only to find her sound asleep on the chair! I guess playing outside really took it out of them! I love my kids!

A day at the park

Today Dad had work off, so we were planning on going to the Botanical gardens to see the Tree House exhibit. When we got there, the place was PACKED! So dad didn't want to go anymore. We decided to go to the park instead, so the kids could run around. We decided to go to Ella's favorite park. After playing on the playground for a bit, we went on a walk down the greenway. Grandpa walked with the big girls and created an adventure for them. They had to follow tasks, and find "clues" to the end. We waded in the (freezing) creek, and had a grand time. I love spending time with the family! Dad is an awesome Grandpa, and the Kids love spending time with him.
