Mimi and Pop's house day 2

Saturday we spent the day with Mimi and Pop, the kids rode their bikes, watched movies, played games and did scavenger hunts.  The grownups talked and enjoyed the beautiful weather.  We had Moby Dick's for lunch and Pizza for dinner.  It was a nice quiet day.  I even convinced Mimi and Pop to sit for some portraits with Jamie.

Mimi and Pop's house!

This weekend we headed up to Kentucky to see mimi and Pop.  They were supposed to come down for the Baptism/blessing weekend but due to poor health were unable to attend.  Since Pop hadn't gotten to meet Baby James yet, we brought the baby to him.  James is named after Pop and we were very excited for the James' to meet.  Baby James was a wonderful traveler, sleeping almost the whole 6 hour trip.  After we got to Louisville, we unpacked the car before heading out to dinner.  James was fantastic with Mimi and Pop, smiling and cooing and just generally being an awesome baby.  He really liked them.  He gave the biggest grin when he met them.

We met Uncle Tom and Aunt Sue for dinner at Pop's favorite Mexican restaurant. we had a fantastic dinner and good company.  It was a wonderful evening.  Pop's favorite part  I think was when he had the waiters sing happy birthday to uncle Tom and force-feed him a shot.  It was revenge for when Tom did the same to Pop on his birthday.

The kids loved Uncle Tom, he got them to call him "Uncle Tom the Great King" and he rough-housed with them a bit before they had to head to bed.  all in all it was a nice day.

Basket Ball with Nana (and mommy)

Today Ella and I got Nana to play basket ball with us.  Despite her protests of inadequacy, she beat us both in a game on H-O-R-S-E.  We all had fun, I hope to get much more use out of the net this summer.

Waiting out the storms

Last night a big storm system moved through the area.  Many Tornado's touched down causing major damage.  We were once again spared, no damage for us.  But the kids were quite worried as we watched the news and waited for the storm to end.

Paper boat

Dad took us all out to the local Chinese buffet for dinner tonight.  It was fantastic as always, but we had an especially nice waitress this time.  She was enamored with James, and was super sweet to Wesley.  She make Wes, (and Ella) origami boats to take home with them.  It was very sweet.
