Summer Fun

Today the kids had fun in the back yard before I took them out to the movies and for ice cream at the mall.  I think Brenna is having fun down here.

Independence day

We spent the 4th of July with Mom and Dad.  We had a great time.  Dad and I took the kids over to Dublin park to ride in the bouncy houses.  It was WAY TOO HOT so we only stayed a little bit.  I think the kids had fun anyway.  Later in the evening, Dad let the kids do sparklers.  We missed out on the fireworks though, it rained and they didn't start until after 10.

Monday at the movies

Monday Mom and I took the kids to the free summer movies.  We were planning on meeting some friends there, but ended up in different theaters.  After the movie we let the kids play in the fountains and had a picnic.  We finished off our day with a ride on the carousel and fro-yo!  A successful day of keeping out of the heat.












Today the we had lunch at Chick-fil-a, the girls are silly!

Saturday in the pool

Saturday was incredibly hot and miserable.  I complained on Facebook about the heat and some of our friends came to the rescue!!  The R family recently bought a new house that has a fantastic pool in the backyard and they invited us to share the afternoon with them.  The kids (and grownups) had lots of fun playing in the pool, and when we were done, I taught the girls how to make sushi.  It was a wonderful summer afternoon.

Date night

Yesterday Mom and Dad watched the kids at their house so we could have a date night.  We had dinner at home with the kids, then we went over to bridgstreet and had ice cream at the Peach Wave.  Then, despite the 105 degree heat we walked along bridgstreet to the newest incarnation of the bowling alley "Pinz"  where we played pool for a 1/2 hour.  We played 3 games and I won all three!!  The first I won legit, the second, Jon sunk all his balls in 2 turns but scratched on the 8 ball.  The third, we were both down to the 8 and I sunk it first.  It was so fun!  We havn't played pool together in years.  After our 1/2 hour was up, we drove over to the dollar theater to see "John Carter" but when we got there they told us that the AC in that theater was broken (remember the 105 degree temp?) so we decided to pick a different movie.  We ended up in "The lucky one" which didn't start for another 40 min so we sat in the empty theater and heckled the screen and it's decidedly Un-fun "fun Facts".  Untill the theater started to fill up.  I can't believe how many people actually WANTED to see that movie!  The theater was full!  The movie was sappy, and romantic and well, stupid, but not horrible so it was all good.  I love date nights with my honey.
